Workshop “A Vibrant Summer, Spreading Joy” at PPS

To create a healthy playground for the children of employees during the summer break, the Youth Union of PTSC Petroleum Services Joint Stock Company (PPS) recently collaborated with the Traffic Police Department of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to organize the PPS's Children's Workshop 2024 "A Vibrant Summer, Spreading Joy". The PPS's Children's Workshop 2024 "A Vibrant Summer, Spreading Joy" is part of the 2024 youth union work program and youth movement of the PPS Youth Union Executive Committee. Through this program, children were equipped with essential skills related to fire prevention and control to minimize accidents and injuries. They also learned life skills, teamwork, developed critical thinking and creativity, and honed their dexterity through experiential activities, games, and science experiments. The program attracted enthusiastic participation from the children of PPS employees, the children of officers and soldiers of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police, and their parents.

During the experience, Major Mai Bá Thi, an officer from the PC08 Department, guided the children with engaging and fun stories, presenting many relatable and interesting scenarios to help them recognize the causes of fires and explosions, and how to handle them if a fire occurs. This activity not only contributed to a lively atmosphere but also helped the children gain more knowledge and awareness in using heat sources. In addition, the children were also introduced to knowledge about fire safety in public places, schools, and households.
The children had the opportunity to experience fire safety and escape skills in various spaces and situations: escaping from smoky and toxic environments; escaping from high-rise buildings; first aid techniques, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for cases of cardiac arrest and respiratory failure... Through this practical experience, the children learned many skills about how to escape, precautions when using escape routes, how to protect their respiratory system, avoid smoke inhalation, and fire reporting skills, to protect themselves and those around them in case of fire.

Following the initial experience, with the goal of discovering, stimulating, and developing each child's unique talents according to their age, the organizers implemented creative activities such as mixing drinks, decorating cupcakes, making 3D clay art, decorating photos of Uncle Ho, decorating greeting cards, conducting science experiments with breathing balloons, etc. These activities were interwoven, allowing the children to absorb knowledge in a non-boring way and participate enthusiastically in all activities. In addition, parents also actively participated, accompanying their children in creating elaborate and interesting handcrafted products.
The workshop took place in a lively and exciting atmosphere, providing hours of fun and educational activities for the children while creating a space and time for family members to strengthen their bonds in an environment free from phones, laptops, and the internet.

Experiential learning , or skills education through play-based learning and play-based learning, helps children develop creativity, dynamism, and adaptability, thereby fostering personal growth and boosting self-confidence. More importantly, experiential learning is now more enjoyable with the involvement of parents. Through the workshop program, the PPS Company Youth Union created opportunities for parents to practice a new approach to skill development for children, helping them discover and develop their talents. Furthermore, throughout the workshop, discussions aimed to create an environment where children could interact, collaborate, and make friends with others who share similar interests and passions. This helps children expand their networks and develop social communication skills, laying the foundation for the development of personality and soft skills in their future lives.
