La Êê border commune donates to support the Cuban people

DNO - Responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, on the morning of August 21, the border commune of La Êê held a ceremony to launch a fundraising campaign to support the Cuban people.

At the end of the donation campaign on the morning of August 21, the total amount of money donated by officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of La Êê commune reached nearly 10 million VND. It is expected that by the deadline according to the Central regulations (October 16), the total amount of money mobilized from the people is estimated at about 30 million VND.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Chuong, Secretary of the La Êê Commune Party Committee, shared that although the amount of money raised was not too large, it showed the sharing of the highland people with the Cuban people.

La Ee Commune is one of the remote and extremely disadvantaged localities of Da Nang City. The whole commune has about 2,300 people, more than 95% of whom are ethnic minorities. By the end of 2024, the poverty rate accounted for nearly 46%.
