Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Commander of Military Region 5, presented commemorative flags to representatives of the participating teams.

This year's competition brings together 80 athletes and coaches from 8 teams representing units throughout Military Region 5. The teams will compete in 10 events, divided into 3 categories: individual competition, paired shooter competition, and team competition.

The Commander of Military Region 5 inspected the shooting competition process.

In the individual competition, athletes compete in five events: shooting at fixed targets; shooting at concealed targets during the day; shooting at fixed targets at night; self-affirmation; and pyramid.

The competition for pairs of shooters consists of three events: Swing; Nighttime defensive sniping; and Joint combat. The team competition includes two events: Containment and command, and coordinated target destruction. The sports festival takes place over three days (June 2nd to 4th).

In his opening remarks at the sports competition, Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai emphasized that the shooting events were highly challenging, therefore the athletes participating in this competition were truly outstanding individuals who had been carefully selected and trained in various agencies and units. The Commander of Military Region 5 requested that the organizing committee and participating agencies and units coordinate and manage the competition seriously, strictly, scientifically , fairly, and in accordance with the plan, ensuring absolute safety in all aspects. Participating teams were urged to strictly adhere to military discipline, the regulations and rules of the organizing committee and the host unit; and athletes were encouraged to remain calm, confident, and strive to overcome all difficulties to best complete all events of the competition.

The shooters compete in shooting at fixed targets during the day.

The competition aims to assess the proficiency in using weapons and equipment; to provide a basis for drawing lessons learned, improving the quality of training and combat readiness of sniper units; and to select high-achieving shooters to participate in the 2026 All-Army Competition.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes competed in the individual event of shooting at fixed targets.
