The first team to qualify for the Central Coastal region play-offs is the Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports team. Coach Tran Trung Kien's team achieved a perfect record after two matches, defeating the Vietnam-Korea University of Information Technology and Communication - Da Nang University (3-1) and the University of Law - Hue University (2-0).
In the 2024 season, the Da Nang University of Sports and Physical Education team secured a spot in the national finals on their first appearance in the tournament. And this season, the team from this sports-focused university is also considered a strong contender for one of the two spots in the Central Coastal region's finals.

Meanwhile, theFPT Polytechnic College team also made an impressive comeback in their second appearance at the tournament (their first was in 2023). Coach Tran Huu Dong Trieu's team played solidly and earned 4 points after 2 matches: winning 1-0 against the University of Technical Education - Da Nang University, and drawing 0-0 with Hue University.
Along with the Da Nang University of Sports team, the FPT Polytechnic College team was the first to qualify for the play-offs, with only two rounds of group stage matches completed.
The FPT Polytechnic College team (right), led by former HAGL star Tran Huu Dong Trieu, is also a formidable opponent this season.
The Hue University team started in the second round, beginning with a rather difficult match where they were fortunate to secure a 0-0 draw against FPT Polytechnic College. In the final match on the morning of January 10th, the Hue University team needed a win to advance. The 2023 champions showed their mettle and played a spectacular match to defeat the University of Technical Education - Da Nang University team 5-0, thus securing their place in the next round.
The Duy Tan University team also advanced with an unbeaten record, earning 4 points after 2 matches. The representative from Da Nang defeated the University of Science - Hue University 2-0 and drew with the University of Economics - Hue University 1-1.
The 2023 Hue University champions are determined to return to the finals in Ho Chi Minh City.
The play-off round took place on January 12th, with two matches: Duy Tan University (Group 1 winner) played against Hue University (Group 3 winner) at 1 PM, and Da Nang University of Sports and Physical Education played against FPT Polytechnic College at 3 PM.
The two winning teams from the two play-off matches will qualify to represent the Central Coastal region in the final round of the 3rd Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament - 2025, sponsored by THACO, which will take place at Ton Duc Thang University Stadium starting on March 1st.
The Central Coastal Region Qualifiers (Group B) feature 9 participating teams: Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology – Da Nang University, Duy Tan University, Hue University, Hue University of Economics, Hue University of Science, Hue University of Law, Da Nang University of Technology and Education, Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports, and FPT Polytechnic College. The 9 teams are divided equally into 3 groups, playing a single round-robin format to determine points and rankings. The top 3 teams from each group, along with the best-performing second-place team, will advance to the play-off round.
