Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Thai Thu Xuong, suggested that the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union effectively promote the practice of following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, building a style of trade union officials who are always "close to the grassroots and close to the workers."

On the afternoon of May 7th, at the Con Dao Special Zone (Ho Chi Minh City), the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor (HCMCFL) held a conference to review the five-year implementation of Conclusion 01-KL/TW dated May 18, 2021, of the Politburo ; and to commend outstanding individuals among workers, civil servants, and laborers in the city who have excelled in studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, over the past five years, city-level trade unions have concretized documents from the Central Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee into a comprehensive action plan. Trade unions at all levels have intensified the registration of studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh .

The City Federation of Labor Unions has organized meaningful and practical activities such as: the Tet Reunion program, the "Ticket of Compassion" program, the "Trade Union Shelter" program, the "Trade Union Meal" program, the "Excellent Worker" program, the "Creative Worker" program, etc. City-level trade unions have promoted the exemplary role of trade union officials, especially leaders, implementing the motto "close to workers, close to the grassroots".

Over the past five years, trade unions at all levels in the city have built nearly 2,000 Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces and more than 2,000 bookshelves about President Ho Chi Minh; more than 444,150 models, initiatives, and solutions have been implemented and effectively applied, benefiting businesses and society.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Thai Thu Xuong, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, assessed that the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union is one of the pioneering units in implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW. The activities have been concretized through appropriate and practical actions, going into depth, becoming a regular task of all levels of the Trade Union, and spreading strongly among all union members, workers, and employees in the city.

To make the study and emulation of President Ho Chi Minh's teachings increasingly profound, practical, and effective, according to the comrade, each trade union official must be a pioneer in cultivating morality, renewing thinking, and improving work style. When there is internal unity and individuals set an example, the ripple effect on union members, civil servants, and workers will be truly persuasive and sustainable.

Comrade Thai Thu Xuong suggested that the city's Trade Union organization continue to maintain and effectively promote the work of following Uncle Ho's teachings; building a style of Trade Union officials who are always "close to the grassroots, close to the workers" and must listen to the voices of workers right in the production factory. By understanding the concerns of workers in each residential area, Trade Union officials will be able to promptly advise on practical policies regarding wages, housing, and welfare.

The comrade also suggested that trade unions at all levels should continue to incorporate the content of following Uncle Ho's teachings into daily trade union activities, linking it with the "Excellent Worker, Creative Worker" emulation movement. Productivity, quality, and work efficiency should be the benchmarks. In particular, it is necessary to inspire a spirit of self-learning and skill improvement among workers so as not to fall behind in the digital age.

At the conference, 40 exemplary collectives and 109 exemplary individuals who have excelled in studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh were commended.
