Building safe and friendly schools.

Báo Nhân dânBáo Nhân dân24/09/2024

On September 24th, in Thanh Oai district, the Hanoi City Women's Union organized a communication program titled "Preventing and Responding to School Violence - Building Safe and Friendly Schools" for nearly 2,000 students.

Speaking at the event, Vice President of the Hanoi City Women's Union Le Thi Thien Huong said that in recent years, school violence has become a matter of concern for the whole society.

Notably, according to statistics from the Supreme People's Court , out of approximately 220,000 divorce cases annually, 70-80% are related to conflict and domestic violence. A very large proportion of students experience domestic violence linked to school violence.

The reality is that school violence has been on the rise recently, truly becoming a wake-up call for families, schools, and society as a whole; reminding us that we need to pay attention and take appropriate measures to combat this problem.

To minimize school violence and build safe and friendly schools, the Hanoi City Women's Union proposes that all levels of women's associations, schools, families, and students actively promote awareness in the community about children's rights, prevention and response to violence and abuse against women and children; work together to prevent and respond to school violence; and build safe and friendly schools, contributing to building elegant and civilized Hanoi citizens.

Students performed propaganda skits in a theatrical format.

During the program, many lively and practical communication activities took place through direct dissemination of information; exchanges by speakers; and dramatization through short plays. Simultaneously, information was disseminated through various media corners to students and parents on issues related to preventing and responding to school violence.
