At a recent online discussion about conquering IELTS, Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc - President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association for English Language Research and Teaching - stated: "To evaluate the effectiveness of an English learning method for children, parents can rely on three main criteria: whether the method is suitable for the child's age; whether the child has the opportunity to listen, speak, and express themselves in English; and finally, whether the child is confident, making progress, and enthusiastic."

According to PhD candidate Ha Dang Nhu Quynh – academic director at DOL English and a 9.0 IELTS scorer, who graduated second in the English Pedagogy program (Ho Chi Minh City University of Education) – it is essential to have a foundational learning path before children start studying for the IELTS exam.
"For example, at DOL English, elementary school children (grades 4 and 5) will take a placement test to enter the Starters, Movers, and Flyers programs before transitioning to IELTS at the beginning of secondary school. The program has distinct differences, such as being designed based on the Linearthinking method. Students don't learn knowledge in a fragmented way, but are guided to systematize knowledge in a logical, fun, and effective manner," said PhD candidate Nhu Quynh.
After completing the Starters, Movers, and Flyers levels, children have a sufficient vocabulary and grammar to describe familiar things around them, everyday situations, and are ready to move on to the IELTS learning stage in secondary school. "With the Linearthinking method at DOL English, children not only learn English but also gain additional social knowledge, expressive thinking, and critical thinking skills," she said.

Sharing about the English program for primary and secondary school children at DOL English, Ms. Nhu Quynh said that this is the result of 4 years of research by a team including former students of the High School for the Gifted (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City), Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted in Ho Chi Minh City, etc.
"Because we are Vietnamese, we understand the psychology, learning characteristics, and common mistakes of Vietnamese people, so we design content that is more relatable, appropriate, and engaging, without putting pressure on children. DOL has a modern technology system combined with AI so children can practice anytime, anywhere," explained researcher Nhu Quynh.
NCS Nhu Quynh stated that all teachers at DOL English must have standard pronunciation because it is very difficult to correct incorrect pronunciation in children from a young age. To minimize costs and time for both parents and children, the program is designed to be streamlined, with tuition fees under 3 million VND per month.

" I did some research and found that the Linearthinking method at DOL English is highly effective. Many students not only achieve high English scores but also show great enthusiasm for learning. That's why I decided to enroll my daughter here," shared Dr. Nguyen Loc.
Similarly, the baby Pham Vu Thien Di, a 12-year-old student in the 6th grade at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School (Ho Chi Minh City), said that after studying Linearthinking at DOL English, her English skills have improved significantly. She no longer gets confused when reading long texts or writing complex sentences, and she is more confident and accurate in her assignments.
Speaking about her reason for starting to study IELTS early, Thien Di said she wanted to focus on learning English well early so that she would have time to improve other skills.

Over 800 primary and secondary school teachers in Ho Chi Minh City will learn about DOL English's Linearthinking methodology in April 2025. The program is jointly organized by the Information and Educational Programs Center (Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City).

Since December 2025, the Prime Minister has approved the Project to make English the second language in schools for the period 2025-2035, with a vision to 2045.
Meanwhile, some localities are gradually raising English proficiency standards for children. Most recently, the Hanoi People's Committee issued new regulations on foreign languages. Specifically, students in high-quality secondary and high schools must achieve a foreign language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 4.0 - 6.5.
The IELTS program for junior high school students at DOL Dinh Luc is designed specifically for junior high school students (or 4th or 5th graders with a Flyers certificate).
With its exclusive Linearthinking method, state-of-the-art Linearsystem technology, and experienced team of Linearteachers, DOL is currently one of the most reputable and prominent English training centers in Ho Chi Minh City.
