On November 28th, a motorbike caught fire in District 12 (Ho Chi Minh City).
At the time of the fire, two motorcycles, driven by two men, were involved in a traffic collision. The collision caused both motorcycles to slide forward and fall close together. Then, one motorcycle suddenly caught fire, and the flames quickly spread to the other motorcycle.
Upon seeing the fire, residents in the surrounding area quickly mobilized fire extinguishers, but due to the high flames, they were unable to reach the fire.
The fire completely destroyed both vehicles, causing severe traffic congestion in the area.
Earlier, on October 23rd, while traveling on Le Van Sy Street (Ho Chi Minh City), a motorbike suddenly caught fire. Upon realizing the fire, the driver quickly pulled the vehicle to the side of the road and shouted for help from passersby. Many people nearby used mini fire extinguishers and successfully put out the fire.
Another recent motorcycle fire occurred on August 14th at Vinh Tuy Bridge ( Hanoi ). A motorcyclist was traveling on the road when the vehicle suddenly burst into flames. The fire caused no casualties, but the motorcycle was completely destroyed.
Given the recent surge in motorcycle fires, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department has advised people to equip themselves with the skills to handle motorcycle and scooter fires.
Accordingly, in the event of a vehicle catching fire inside a house, residents should quickly shout to alert other family members to evacuate or take measures to assist in extinguishing the fire.
Afterward, people should quickly use any fire extinguishers available at home, or use blankets, quilts, or large pieces of cloth soaked in water to cover the burning area on the vehicle.
Residents should immediately cut off the power to the area where the fire is located or to the entire house. At this time, people can extinguish the fire with water, while simultaneously opening all doors to allow smoke to escape and calling the fire department on 114 to report the incident.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department advises that when a fuel leak is detected, people should absolutely not use water to extinguish the fire because it can cause the fire to spread faster and become more difficult to control.
For fires in parking lots, as soon as a fire is detected, it is necessary to quickly shout and alert everyone around to deal with the fire, move and isolate surrounding vehicles from the fire area, and at the same time notify the security and parking attendants to quickly mobilize firefighting vehicles and equipment to deal with the fire.
Fire extinguishers and wet blankets can be used to put out the fire. Meanwhile, immediately call the fire department at 114 to report the incident. If the fire spreads and becomes uncontrollable, quickly alert people nearby to evacuate to a safe place.
