The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) stated that Xiaomi's ring uses elastic materials such as PVC or rubber, combined with a spring mechanism that allows for flexible size adjustment. This means the ring can fit any finger, solving the problem of users having to choose the right ring size.

According to the patent, Xiaomi's smart ring supports Wi-Fi, 2G to 5G mobile networks, NFC and UWB, along with multiple sensors such as light, accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetic field, and temperature.
In addition to health tracking, the ring can connect to and control other mobile devices.
Prior to Xiaomi, Oura also revealed that it was researching and developing a smart ring with the ability to automatically adjust its size.
Currently, Xiaomi has not announced a specific launch date or price for the smart ring, but the company is still showing ambition to enter the smart wearable ring market to compete with rivals such as Oura Ring and Samsung Galaxy Ring.
