Vietlott Lottery has a new leader.

According to Decision No. 1016/QD-BTC dated May 19, 2023, of the Minister of Finance , Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dam was appointed Chairman of the Vietnam Lottery Company (Vietlott). Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dam was born in 1974, holds a Bachelor's degree from the National Economics University and a Master's degree from the National Institute for Policy Research in Japan.

Mr. Dam worked for over 16 years at the Banking and Finance Department of the Ministry of Finance (1996 - 2012). During that time, he held the position of Head of the Lottery and Prize Games Department. Immediately after Vietlott was established, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dam was assigned by the Ministry of Finance to work there, holding the positions of Deputy General Director of the Company (2012 - 2018) and General Director of the Company (2018 - May 2023).

Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi presented the appointment decision for the Chairman of the Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dam.

The Ministry of Finance has also assigned Mr. Pham Ngoc Tu, Deputy General Director of the company, to be in charge of and manage the Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company.

Previously, Mr. Le Van Hoan, Chairman of Vietlott, was transferred and appointed to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Development Bank for the term 2021 - 2026.

In 2022, Vietlott achieved revenue of over 6,272 billion VND; paid out over 3,560 billion VND in prizes to players nationwide for its self-selected lottery products; and contributed over 1,720 billion VND to local budgets, an increase of over 400 billion VND compared to 2021.

By the end of 2022, Vietlott had developed nearly 6,000 terminals nationwide. Revenue from the terminal channel reached over 5,333 billion VND, accounting for 85% of the company's total revenue.

In 2023, Vietlott plans to dedicate a large portion of its terminals to facilitating social policy beneficiaries (poor households; households facing extreme difficulties; families of war invalids, sick soldiers, and those who have contributed to the revolution; households affected by Agent Orange, etc.) to enable them to participate as agents/sales points to improve their income.
