On January 21st, news that a gold shop in Kien Giang had won the jackpot on 12 lottery tickets from the Bac Lieu Lottery Company attracted the attention of many social media users.
Below the post, many people mistakenly thought the owner of the 12 winning lottery tickets was an employee of the KB gold shop in Kien Giang.
According to the person who posted the information, the 12 winning tickets with the number sequence 432494 matched the results of the Bac Lieu lottery on January 16th. Notably, all 12 lucky tickets belonged to the same customer.

Contacting the KB gold shop in Kien Giang, it was learned that the winning ticket did not belong to an employee. The shop only assisted customers in disbursing the prize money for 11 winning tickets totaling 19.8 billion VND, not 12 tickets as posted on social media.
"The winner is from Kien Giang province and requested confidentiality. The 11 winning tickets were purchased while traveling. The shop does not offer lottery ticket exchange services, but still assisted in disbursing the prize money for the 11 winning tickets on that day," a representative from the gold shop shared.

Speaking to a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper , Mr. Nguyen Van Truyen, Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial Lottery Company Limited, said that the company had paid out prizes to 11 winners of the special lottery tickets in Kien Giang province, with a total prize value of 22 billion VND (excluding tax).
"During this period, the company pays out prizes to 12 winning tickets every day. Almost every day someone wins all 12 tickets, and they all come to claim their prizes; the company has paid out the prizes in full," Mr. Truyen said.
