On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (1954 - 2024) - an immortal epic associated with the name and stature of General Vo Nguyen Giap, and to express gratitude for his exceptionally outstanding contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, the National Political Publishing House is reprinting the book "Vo Nguyen Giap - The People's General," edited by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director and Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House.

At a meeting to honor the soldiers of Dien Bien Phu in Dien Bien Phu City, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director and Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House, presented Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh with a set of books titled "Vo Nguyen Giap - The People's General".
This book preserves beautiful images of the life and revolutionary career of the General, a courageous, steadfast, and indomitable communist soldier; a rare military genius; an outstanding and close disciple of President Ho Chi Minh; a highly respected leader of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam; and the first General of the Vietnam People's Army.
Through recollections and memories of the General, readers can easily see that, in any circumstance, the General always demonstrated the character of a steadfast communist soldier, maintaining his integrity, offensive ideology, and self-reliance, successfully completing all tasks entrusted by the Party, the State, and the people; always upholding the great contributions and sacrifices of the people and the army, those who directly fought on the battlefield, and considering himself merely "a drop in the ocean," equal to all soldiers.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh listens to the launch of a book about General Vo Nguyen Giap and the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, which has been translated into many languages.
The book also affirms that the reputation, prestige, moral qualities, and personality of General Vo Nguyen Giap, Commander-in-Chief, are not limited to Vietnam but have become a symbol of revolutionary heroism, strongly encouraging the struggle for peace, national independence, social progress, and against oppression, exploitation, and injustice in colonial countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America; honored by the world and admired and respected by progressive, peace-loving people.

The book is published in bilingual format: Vietnamese and several other languages (English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic).
The set includes 6 books: one in Vietnamese and 5 bilingual books: Vietnamese-English, Vietnamese-French, Vietnamese-Spanish, Vietnamese-Chinese, and Vietnamese-Arabic.
On this occasion, the National Political Publishing House also launched many valuable books such as "Heroes and Soldiers of Dien Bien Phu"; "Dien Bien Phu - History and Memories".../.
