With numerous strengths in forestry development, supportive business policies, and free trade agreements, Vietnam's exports of wood and wood products have achieved significant success in the international market. The Vietnamese wood industry is well-positioned to capitalize on strong domestic and international demand. Simultaneously, businesses are investing in new technologies and digital transformation to develop new products and services, enhance competitiveness, and increase efficiency and productivity.
Despite many advantages, the timber industry still faces numerous challenges as Vietnam's main export markets increasingly demand stricter controls on the origin of timber to ensure legality, prevent deforestation and degradation, promote green production, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and implement carbon border adjustment mechanisms.
