Shrimp exports in 2024 will reach nearly 4 billion USD

In 2024, the Vietnamese shrimp industry is steadily moving towards an export milestone of nearly 4 billion USD, an increase of 15% compared to 2023.

According to the Association of Processing and Seafood export Vietnam, 2024, shrimp export reaching nearly 4 billion USD, an increase of 15% compared to 2023. Provinces such as Soc Trang , Ca Mau, Bac Lieu... are leading localities, contributing from 800 - 900 million USD to the total shrimp export turnover of the whole country in 2024.

Typical shrimp exporting enterprises such as: Soc Trang Seafood Joint Stock Company; Minh Phu Seafood Group Joint Stock Company, Sao Ta Food Joint Stock Company, Tai Kim Anh Seafood Processing Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Clean Seafood Joint Stock Company...

Notably, in 2024, the Vietnamese shrimp industry took advantage of the recovery in demand and import prices in the US and Chinese markets, so shrimp exports to these two superpowers made a strong breakthrough.

Besides, shrimp exporting enterprises still maintain their position in markets such as Japan, Korea, and EU thanks to the reputation and quality of their products as well as the advantages of value-added processed products from shrimp.

On the other hand, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) also bring competitive advantages for Vietnamese shrimp products to accelerate into many markets such as the UK, Canada, Australia, and Singapore.
