A moving new production of the play 'The Days of Youth Are Gone'

"The Days of Youth Are Gone" is a play that made a very strong impression 30 years ago by the Ho Chi Minh City Drama Troupe (now the Ho Chi Minh City Drama Theatre), winning the gold medal at the 1998 Autumn Theatre Festival.

Many versions have been staged, all very successful. On the evening of April 29th, the Hong Trang Drama Group (Ho Chi Minh City) premiered a new version, which still brought tears to the audience's eyes.

The original cast and crew of "The Time of Girlhood" included author Nguyen Thu Phuong, People's Artist Kim Xuan in the lead role, and the stage director - Meritorious Artist Le Dien… who were also present to share the joy with Hong Trang. Thu Phuong said: "Besides my efforts as a very young author, there was also the valuable experience of director - Meritorious Artist Doan Ba ​​- infused into the play back then. He brought his memories of Truong Son into every detail, every character, touching the hearts of the viewers." People's Artist Kim Xuan was moved: "I have a role that everyone calls a once-in-a-lifetime role. The character's face was disfigured by bombs, but it is a very beautiful one in my career."

Young actors like Hong Trang (playing Dieu), Nghinh Loc (playing Diem), and Vu Tran, Ky Thao, Bao Chau, Vo Ngoc Tan, Vo Ngoc Tien, and Nha Uyen perform skillfully, vibrantly, and expressively. The setting of the café theater is extremely simple, so the actors can only win over the audience with their own inner strength. Performing a grand, long play like a formal stage production in a café theater, the Hong Trang group is truly remarkable.
