Specifically, the Central Highlands has become an area producing a number of key agricultural products on a large scale, accounting for a high proportion, especially industrial crops and fruit trees. Some of Vietnam's export products are ranked among the top and second in the region as well as the world, the Central Highlands has contributed many products such as coffee, pepper, passion fruit, cashews and macadamia, rubber... Planting area Precious medicinal herbs such as: Ngoc Linh ginseng, string ginseng, red lingzhi mushroom, polyscias fruticosa, polyscias fruticosa, dong quai, rose flower... in the Central Highlands are also developing rapidly to form concentrated medicinal areas. However, the export turnover of the Central Highlands region is still very modest. In the two years 02 and 2022, during the recovery process after the Covid-2023 pandemic, the total import-export turnover of the entire region will reach about 19 billion USD, accounting for less than 4,6% of the total import-export turnover of the country. , in which the region's export turnover will reach nearly 1 billion USD in 3,8 and over 2022 billion USD in 3,7, about more than 2023% of the country's total export turnover.
Besides the above mentioned bright spots, Director Vu Ba Phu also frankly pointed out that the Central Highlands region still has some major limitations. That is, the scale of production and processing of agricultural products in the region is still small, and deep processing centers are lacking and weak, leading to export products or raw materials for export being raw and not bringing high value. for people and businesses. The quality of key agricultural products is uneven, so there are many technical trade barriers.
In addition, the industrial sector also faces many difficulties and challenges due to the lack of high-quality human resources and weak logistics infrastructure and facilities.
