Mr. Khang A Chua - Vice Chairman of Tram Tau District People's Committee said: "Creative use of materials from indigenous cultural values has been promoted in tourism activities in the district. On that basis, the district has formed many tourism products closely related to the lives of the people such as: hot mineral spring resort tourism; Eo Gio pine hill area, Tram Tau town, Cu Vai cluster, Hang Xe village, Xa Ho commune; Hang De Cho waterfall, Lang Nhi commune; community tourism in Hat Luu commune; adventure tourism in cloud hunting; resort tourism associated with agriculture; Gau Tao festival of the Mong people; Long Tong festival of the Thai people, Hat Luu commune, Cau Mua festival of the Kho Mu ethnic group, Tuc Dan commune. In 2024, the number of visitors to the district will be 152,500, of which 37,440 will be international visitors. Revenue from tourism will reach 120 billion VND".
Yen Binh district is also one of the localities with fresh and cool natural landscapes. Moreover, the majority of Tay, Nung, Dao and Cao Lan ethnic groups live there, so many traditional cultural features are still preserved, creating a magical attraction for domestic and foreign tourists. Mr. Vu Tuan Manh - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Yen Binh district said: "Determining that indigenous cultural factors are the "magnet" attracting tourists all four seasons, in recent times, the district has paid attention to and issued many tourism development projects associated with exploiting natural values and unique values from the traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups to form unique tourism products. Along with that, the district has increased support for training and developing human resources through training courses, training in tourism service business management skills, tourism marketing; reception skills, housekeeping, community tourism services; training and coaching in foreign languages and culinary arts for indigenous people to directly do tourism to attract tourists to experience and explore".
Catching up with the trends and thinking of tourists, localities in Yen Bai province have quickly seized the opportunity and from their existing strengths in cultural identity, natural conditions, landscapes, and environment to focus on developing experiential tourism with diverse and attractive content. Accordingly, localities have focused on investing in building infrastructure, improving the environment, training human resources, encouraging households to participate in experiential tourism models, designing other tourism products such as community tourism, festival tourism, spiritual tourism, etc. increasingly "attracting" tourists to Yen Bai - a "safe, friendly, unique, attractive, impressive" destination.
In 2024, the entire Yen Bai tourism industry is expected to welcome more than 2,272,000 tourists (up 8.8% over the same period), of which international visitors are estimated to reach 288,800 (up 91.2% over the same period in 2023). Revenue from tourism is estimated to reach nearly 1,922 billion VND (up 11.7% over the same period). These figures show positive signs from new tourism products, including experiential tourism that Yen Bai province is striving to promote to domestic and foreign tourists.
However, to promote sustainable and more effective experiential tourism development, it is necessary to have the synchronous participation from the authorities at all levels to each citizen participating in tourism, focusing on developing and renewing experiential tourism products of traditional cultural values, health care resort tourism, and agricultural tourism. These are also tourism products based on the potential development advantages of Yen Bai, suitable for the needs of both domestic and international tourists, in line with the trend of sustainable tourism development in the current period.
