Patriotism from small actions

Celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, Thai Nguyen province - the historic land of ATK - is ablaze with flags. From August 18, at Thu Ngan Baby store in Duc Xuan ward, Thai Nguyen province, there was the laughter of children wearing bright red hats with yellow stars. This is a new gift giving program of Thu Ngan Baby, with each order, customers will receive special gifts printed with the red flag with yellow stars.

Ms. Do Thu Ngan (born in 1991), owner of Thu Ngan Baby, shared: I started thinking about giving gifts since the beginning of August. Since this morning, many parents have brought their children to buy goods and receive gifts. It was so happy to see the children shouting "Vietnam" when they saw the hats, some even wore hats and said "I love Vietnam". For me, love for the country is always in my heart and I hope that my small actions will contribute to the big picture of my homeland celebrating "Independence Day".

With that spirit, Thu Ngan Baby has prepared 250 gifts including: 100 hats, 100 fans and 50 conical hats. These are all products carefully selected by Ms. Ngan with good materials so that the children can use them for a long time.

Gently putting a red hat on her child, Ms. Doan Thi Lien in Bac Kan ward, said: My two children who came here were both given hats, they really liked it. This is a meaningful, practical gift for the children.

Not far away, at Coffee Zino (Bac Kan ward), the atmosphere is equally bustling. Over the past week, this coffee shop has become a destination for many young people to check in and take photos in small corners decorated with colorful flags and flowers.

In the bright red space, the image of Uncle Ho and an excerpt from the “Declaration of Independence” stand out, next to the embossed words “Proud to be Vietnamese”. Everything is creatively arranged, both artistic and arousing pride.

Ms. Ta Thi Huyen, owner of Coffee Zino, shared: I have lived and worked in Hanoi for more than 10 years, so I have had the opportunity to experience many elaborately decorated coffee shops. Therefore, when I returned to my hometown and realized my dream of owning a small coffee shop, I came up with the idea and started working on it right when the big holiday was approaching. At first, I encountered difficulties because I had to order items from afar, and many products were out of stock. But when it was completed, I saw young people accepting it, taking pictures and spreading messages like "Patriotism is not a trend, patriotism is our genes", I felt that all the efforts were worth it.

Looking at the children holding the flag and posing for photos, we were even more impressed when Ms. Huyen said that, for her, September 2nd is special because of its great historical significance, and also reminds her of her childhood memories of buying new clothes, eating sweet soup, and ice cream. And she hopes that Coffee Zino will contribute to spreading beautiful images of patriotism with everyone. It is expected that these small corners will be decorated by Coffee Zino until the end of September.

Walking on the streets with the Party and National flags flying, we were even more impressed by the staff at Xu Coffee (Bac Kan ward), who meticulously pasted each small flag to decorate the front door of the shop. It is known that the three staff members of the shop spent two days cleaning and decorating the shop, and it has now been completed.

Xu Coffee’s space is not large, but it is neatly and creatively arranged. In addition to the flags, customers coming to Xu Coffee also have the opportunity to review traditions through meaningful paintings and photos such as: “DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE”; photo “Provisional Government introduced to the people on September 2, 1945…

Carefully arranging the small flags, Xu Coffee employee Ly Thi Luyen shared: The owner wants to spread the love of the homeland to everyone. When decorating the shop, we are very careful, trying to make it as beautiful and serious as possible. I just hope that customers coming to the shop will be happier and feel the holiday atmosphere more clearly.

Along with hanging the brilliant national flag in front of the small coffee shop named Ba Be Coffee, Mr. Phung Van Hoang, a resident of Ba Be commune, expressed his patriotism in his own way.

Passionate about photography and fluent in English, Mr. Hoang often becomes the “companion” of many international tourists when they visit Ba Be Lake. He patiently guides, takes photos, and helps them have souvenir photos next to the red flag with a yellow star.

The bright smiles and confident eyes of international friends in front of the sacred symbol of the Vietnamese people are the simple joy that Mr. Hoang preserves. “That is how I feel I can contribute a small part, so that tourists can understand and love my country more,” Mr. Hoang expressed.

The whole Thai Nguyen province is sharing the joy of Independence Day, from the central communes and wards to all localities, all are bustling with flags and flowers, creating a cohesive, proud and youthful atmosphere. At Vo Nguyen Giap Square (Phan Dinh Phung Ward), many young people come to capture beautiful moments to celebrate Independence Day. Creative workshops such as painting conical hats with flags, making keychains, hairpins, notebooks, etc. are all dressed in the colors of the Fatherland, bringing experiences that are both familiar and proud.

Specifically, Mr. Nguyen Van Anh in Phan Dinh Phung ward personally sewed and gave away 80 scarves printed with a yellow star on a red background, expressing his simple yet warm patriotism.

Meanwhile, at Gau Doi Mother and Baby Supermarket (facility 1, Phan Dinh Phung ward), an eye-catching decoration corner was set up for children to take souvenir photos; each photo spread on social networks is accompanied by small gifts, contributing to sharing joy on the big festival.

Every September 2nd reminds us of the journey we have traveled and inspires faith in the future. From heroic memories to today's life, Independence Day is both a holiday and a fuel for national pride, so that every Thai Nguyen citizen can continue to write the story of the country through their daily work and life.
