Ahead of the release of Challengers, the actress stunned in a slew of tennis-inspired looks at the film's press conference.
Zendaya is currently on a worldwide promotional tour for her upcoming film, Challengers. The film, directed by Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino, is set to be released on April 26, 2024. With just weeks to go until its release, Zendaya, who plays Tashi Duncan, has been turning heads on red carpets and events with her ultra-chic tennis look. The actress took to the red carpet in a tennis-inspired ensemble, ditching the sci- fi universe of Dune to embrace the Tenniscore era, which suits her perfectly. Her stylist, Law Roach, did not disappoint, choosing bold outfits for the tour, sometimes from the archives and sometimes custom pieces.
Her latest look featured a head-to-toe custom white Louis Vuitton gown with a white criss-cross corset and belt. To match the glamorous look, Zendaya wore bronze goddess makeup, perhaps to emulate the sun-kissed look of those on the tennis court, along with elegant hair that was swept to the side. The outfit represented just one of many glamorous looks Zendaya showcased during the Challenger press conference.
Over the weekend, Zendaya also stepped out in a photoshoot wearing a striking lime green and white checkered coat that was cleverly styled as a dress. The statement came from Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection under the creative direction of Marc Jacobs. To complement the outfit, the actress opted for chic white stilettos and sported an elegant blonde updo with a matching white headband. Another standout was her custom Loewe dress in a vibrant green shimmering hue that was decorated with a subtle tennis-player-like pattern. Worn during the film’s Australian tour, the innovative tennis-inspired outfit was paired with sparkling Loewe heels and Bulgari jewelry.
If you're not familiar with the premise of Challengers, the film follows a once-promising tennis talent, Tashi, who is forced to retire after a career-ending injury. Now a coach, she trains her former mediocre tennis player husband, Art, to become a Grand Slam champion. However, after a series of losses, Tashi is forced to sign Art up for a low-level "Challengers" competition. Things get complicated, however, when they cross paths with a previously unpromising talent named Patrick, who is not only Art's rival but also Tashi's ex-boyfriend. The film is being billed as a compelling sports drama, and there's a lot of anticipation, as Zendaya has amassed a huge fan base after her performances in Dune: Part Two, Euphoria, and the two Spider-Man films she's appeared in, among others. The two male leads will be played by Mike Faist, who starred in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story, and Josh O'Connor, who gained a huge fan base after his role as Prince Charles in The Crown.
Here are some of the standout red carpet looks Zendaya wore to the press tour for Challengers.
