Oxford University (UK) is the best school to study Computer Science in 2024, according to THE's assessment.
On October 26th, Times Higher Education (THE) announced its ranking of the best universities for Computer Science programs in 2024.
Oxford University (UK) tops the rankings for the sixth consecutive year. Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) swapped places for second and third respectively compared to last year. The US dominates the top 10, with 6 representatives.
This year, Imperial College London (UK) and Princeton University (USA) entered the top 10, replacing the Technical University of Munich (Germany) and the National University of Singapore - the only Asian representatives in the top 10 last year.

The 2024 THE Computer Science rankings include 1,027 universities, up from over 900 last year. THE ranks universities based on 18 indicators, categorized into five criteria. Research environment carries the largest weight (29%), followed by teaching quality (28%), research quality (27.5%), internationalization (7.5%), and industry income and patents (8%).
To be eligible for THE ranking, a university must have 500 published scientific papers in the past five years and have at least 1% of its faculty or 20 staff members teaching Computer Science.

This year, Vietnam has five universities included in this ranking: Ton Duc Thang University, Duy Tan University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. Among them, Ton Duc Thang University holds the best position, ranking in the top 400.
Times Higher Education is one of three prestigious global university ranking organizations, alongside Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
