Over 1,200 vehicles are cleared through customs daily.
According to the latest report from the Management Board of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Economic Zone, the total number of vehicles transporting export and import goods cleared through border gates in Lang Son province on December 5, 2023, was 1,215. Of these, 405 vehicles carried export goods (including 271 fruit trucks and 134 other goods trucks); and 810 vehicles carried import goods (including 798 cargo trucks and 12 new trucks).

Notably, at Huu Nghi International Border Gate, a total of 681 vehicles transporting export and import goods were cleared through customs. Of these, 128 vehicles carried export goods (including 38 vehicles carrying fruit and 90 vehicles carrying other goods); and 553 vehicles carried import goods (including 541 vehicles carrying goods and 12 new vehicles). The number of vehicles returning (transferring to other border gates) was 0.
At Tan Thanh Sub-border Gate, a total of 452 vehicles transporting export and import goods were cleared through customs. Of these, 268 vehicles carried export goods (including 233 vehicles carrying fruit and 35 vehicles carrying other goods); 184 vehicles carried import goods; and 0 vehicles returned (transferred to other border gates).

According to the People's Committee of Lang Son province, in November 2023, import and export activities continued to be maintained and developed at six border gates, including: Huu Nghi International Border Gate, Dong Dang International Railway Station, Chi Ma main border gate, and the sub-border gates of Tan Thanh, Coc Nam, and Na Hinh.
Total import and export turnover through the province in November is estimated at 440 million USD, of which exports are estimated at 280 million USD and imports at 160 million USD; cumulative turnover for the first 11 months is estimated at 4,595 million USD, reaching 120.9% of the plan, an increase of 70.6% compared to the same period last year, of which exports are estimated at 2,680 million USD, reaching 206.2% of the plan, an increase of 214.2%; imports are estimated at 1,915 million USD, reaching 76.6% of the plan, an increase of 4%.
Mr. Vy Cong Tuong, Deputy Director of the Lang Son Provincial Customs Department, said that the Lang Son Provincial Customs Department will continue to closely follow the direction of the Ministry of Finance , the General Department of Customs, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee to develop solutions and plans to create favorable conditions for import and export activities, contributing to the fulfillment of the assigned task of collecting state budget revenue.
At the same time, we will continue to promote administrative reform, modernize customs, facilitate trade, and ensure the smooth operation of the electronic customs clearance system in conjunction with the implementation of the Digital Border Gate Platform to maximize convenience for import and export activities.
On the other hand, it is necessary to promptly assign officials to support and resolve any difficulties arising during the customs clearance process; strengthen information exchange and close coordination with functional forces at border gates to quickly carry out customs clearance procedures for import and export goods.
Coordinate with warehousing businesses at border gates to arrange areas and locations to facilitate the storage and preservation of agricultural products while awaiting export as per regulations; coordinate with border guards and police to regulate traffic flow in and out of border gate areas to prevent congestion, ensure security and order, and prevent any instability that could affect the import and export activities of businesses.
Furthermore, we continue to advise import and export organizations and individuals to proactively coordinate and exchange information with relevant authorities regarding market conditions, import and export activities, and border crossing situations in order to promptly adjust production and business plans to suit practical circumstances and minimize potential losses. Using customs brokerage agents licensed by the General Department of Customs to handle import and export procedures will help avoid related legal risks and ensure professionalism and transparency.
Strengthening solutions to support business development.
According to the People's Committee of Lang Son province, the province's industrial production index in November increased by 9.42% compared to November 2022, and the overall increase for the first 11 months was 7.28% compared to the same period last year. Specifically, mining increased by 6.83%; processing and manufacturing increased by 11.37%; and electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning production and distribution increased by 2.37%.
To date, six industrial clusters have been established, investment policies have been decided, investors have been selected, and the progress of infrastructure investment in these established clusters continues to be monitored and expedited. The procedures for approving investment policies for the establishment of four more industrial clusters have been assessed.
Total retail sales of goods and services in November were estimated at VND 3,473.2 billion, bringing the cumulative figure for the first 11 months to VND 31,573.7 billion, reaching 117.4% of the plan and increasing by 28.85% compared to the same period last year.
As of November 22, 2023, the province had registered 623 new businesses, reaching 124% of the plan, a 45% increase compared to the same period last year, with a total registered capital of VND 5,662 billion, an 18% increase. Cumulatively, the province has 4,130 businesses with a total registered capital of VND 49,300 billion, and 785 registered branches and representative offices.
In addition, 39 new cooperatives were established, reaching 97.5% of the plan, a decrease of 35% compared to the same period last year, with a total registered capital of VND 79.8 billion, a decrease of 49.6%; 6 cooperatives were dissolved; the province currently has 493 cooperatives, with a total registered capital of VND 1,109.4 billion, and 2 cooperative unions.
Cumulatively from the beginning of the year, 13 new investment projects have been approved/issued with a total investment capital of VND 6,707.17 billion (an increase of VND 5,167.92 billion compared to the same period last year); 24 projects have been adjusted, with an additional capital increase of VND 148.96 billion; and investment registration certificates for 21 projects have been revoked.
Additionally, in November, the province attracted 151,230 tourists , generating estimated revenue of 135.7 billion VND. The cumulative figure for the first 11 months reached 3,764,820 tourists, achieving 100.13% of the plan and increasing by 10.15% compared to the same period last year; tourism revenue is estimated at 2,999 billion VND, achieving 105.22% of the plan and increasing by 49.59%.
In the coming period, Lang Son province will support investors and accelerate the implementation of the VSIP Lang Son Industrial Park project and other established industrial clusters. The province will expedite the approval process for the investment in the Na Duong 1 and Na Duong 3 industrial clusters; continue to urge the completion of dossiers for the establishment of the Minh Son industrial cluster and the industrial cluster in the southeastern part of Dong Mo town; and guide investors interested in researching and surveying renewable energy projects.
At the same time, continue to effectively implement solutions to improve the investment and business environment, enhance the provincial competitiveness index (PCI), and assess the competitiveness of departments, agencies, and district and city People's Committees (DDCI). Promote solutions to support business development and promptly address the requests of the business community. Focus on attracting investors and expedite the implementation of non-budgetary investment projects.
