On July 27th, Dr. Do Thi Ngoc Khanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Tropical Diseases at Cho Ray Hospital, stated that as of today, the condition of the two patients being treated in the department has improved significantly, their test results are back to normal, and they have been discharged and will return for follow-up appointments as scheduled.
Regarding the two patients still hospitalized in the Pulmonary Department of Cho Ray Hospital, Dr. Dang Vu Thong, Head of the Pulmonary Department, said that after bronchial lavage, the respiratory condition of the two patients gradually improved. Currently, their respiratory status is relatively stable and they are continuing to be monitored and treated.
According to Doctor Ngoc Khanh, sewers may contain gases such as sulfur and methane, which can cause poisoning. Following a case of sewer gas poisoning, Doctor Khanh advises people not to go down into sewers or drains on their own. If work involves sewers or areas where gas exposure is likely, it must be supervised and guided by technical experts, and protective equipment must be used to ensure workplace safety and minimize the risk of poisoning.
Doctor Dang Vu Thong, Specialist Level 2, checks the health of patients.
