According to an announcement from the Vietnam Expressway Investment and Development Corporation (VEC), from December 6th, vehicles traveling on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway in the Liem Tuyen - Cao Bo direction, upon reaching Km239+800, will turn right onto the branch road (part of the Liem Son interchange construction project), then rejoin the main expressway at Km242+220 to proceed to the Cao Bo interchange.

Conversely, vehicles traveling on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway in the Cao Bo - Liem Tuyen direction, upon reaching Km242+900, must turn right onto the branch road (part of the Liem Son interchange construction investment project), then merge back onto the main Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway at Km240+500 to proceed to the Liem Tuyen interchange.

VEC emphasizes that the maximum permitted speed for vehicles traveling on the branch road (the project construction area from Km239+800 to Km242+900) must not exceed 60 km/h. At the same time, vehicles need to gradually reduce their speed on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway before entering the branch road and gradually increase it from the branch road when merging onto the expressway.

On the other hand, vehicles traveling through this section of the route should pay attention to and comply with the road signage system and instructions from the operating unit on the route. The Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway, 50 km long, was invested in and put into use in July 2021, with a total capital of over 8,900 billion VND, a scale of 4 lanes for traffic and 2 emergency stopping lanes along the route, with a maximum operating speed of 120 km/h.

In 2023, this expressway served over 21 million vehicles, an increase of more than 7% compared to 2022, and is considered the expressway with the highest traffic volume among the four expressways managed by VEC.

The Ministry of Transport assesses that, after more than 10 years of operation, traffic volume on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway has increased significantly, especially after the Cao Bo - Dien Chau sections (part of the North-South expressway phase 1) were put into operation. Therefore , VEC is researching and reporting to the competent authorities to consider the option of investing in expanding the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway from 4 lanes to 6-8 lanes.
