Speaking at the Vietnam Tech Impact Summit 2024 held on the morning of December 3rd, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors ofFPT Group, stated that the world is experiencing unprecedented changes, from geopolitical crises to disruptions in supply chains.
"Vietnam is becoming the safest haven amidst the global geopolitical storm," he emphasized.

AI, blockchain, and other digital technologies all rely on data for development. However, Mr. Binh also warned that data only realizes its value when it is properly managed and supported by appropriate policies.
"Vietnam has the potential and strength to shine on the global technology map. But to achieve that, we must take action and commit ourselves today," Mr. Truong Gia Binh affirmed.
Digital assets are borderless; a legal framework is a prerequisite.

According to Forbes research, Vietnam currently ranks second in the world in terms of ownership and interest in digital assets. Mr. Hung believes that the development of blockchain applications is clear evidence of the potential and creativity of domestic businesses.

However, Mr. Hung also frankly pointed out the major challenges that the Vietnamese market is facing.
"This isn't just a story about technology, it's a story about the ecosystem," he said. He argued that Vietnam still lacks a clear legal framework to support investors and businesses in developing confidently, avoiding the risk of fraud, and protecting their legitimate rights.
He compared it to this: "Tangible assets have borders and customs. But digital assets do not." Therefore, a transparent legal framework is needed to manage them, helping Vietnamese businesses avoid having to go abroad like Singapore to establish themselves and have their assets legally recognized.
He also emphasized that technology companies need not only capital but also a stable legal environment. "We want to invest money to support businesses, but we don't know how if there's a lack of a clear legal framework," Mr. Hung shared.
The Chairman of SSI believes that if Vietnam does not build a strong and sustainable market starting today, the great opportunity in digital assets will be missed and "it is unknown when another opportunity will come again." "If no one lights the fire today, there will be no fire," he emphasized.
He argued that Vietnam needs a legal framework to ensure that innovators, investors, and the entire technology ecosystem can confidently thrive. Only then can Vietnam truly become a powerful technology hub, not only in the region but globally.
