On the morning of October 17th, Hai Duong City (Hai Duong province) organized activities as part of a series of celebrations commemorating the 220th anniversary of the founding of Thanh Dong and the 70th anniversary of the city's liberation.

The local authorities honored "Outstanding Citizens," commended "People of Thanh Dong - Speaking Kind Words, Performing Beautiful Deeds," and awarded prizes for literary and artistic creation competitions about the city.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province, Le Ngoc Chau, emphasized that Hai Duong City is the political , economic, cultural, and social center, a type 1 urban area directly under the province, and a locality that has made many significant contributions in all aspects.

Over the past period, amidst a mix of difficulties and opportunities, but with the strong determination of the Party Committee, all levels of government, and the people, the patriotic emulation campaigns and movements associated with "studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh " in the city have been widely implemented.

These movements have created a vibrant atmosphere of emulation, and many shining examples have emerged. “The citizens and individuals honored today, regardless of their field or position, have demonstrated, through their concrete and practical daily actions, a spirit of striving, self-improvement, and determination to contribute to making Hai Duong increasingly civilized, prosperous, and beautiful.”

"The achievements of exemplary individuals and good deeds are persuasive and have a strong ripple effect. They truly serve as bright and vibrant role models, contributing to the cultivation of awareness, thoughts, and feelings, arousing and multiplying positive aspects in each citizen, and contributing to the successful implementation of the renovation and development of the homeland and the building of the culture and people of the Eastern region," Mr. Chau noted.

The writing contest "Hai Duong, the city I love" received thousands of entries. Along with that, hundreds of entries were submitted to songwriting contests, photography contests, and sculpture design contests. This reflects the dedication, intelligence, and above all, the love of the authors for Hai Duong. According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province, this is a very practical undertaking.

Literary and artistic works will spread to all levels of the population and tourists, allowing them to learn more about the rich historical and cultural traditions of the ancient Thanh Dong, and the strong development and growth of Hai Duong City today.

The results of this competition also contribute to educating about revolutionary traditions, fostering love for the homeland and country; and introducing and promoting the unique beauty of the people and development potential of the city to friends both domestically and internationally.

"I suggest that in the coming period, the city should do a good job of preserving and promoting cultural and historical values, creating a friendly and safe living environment for the happiness of the people, and creating momentum for socio-economic development."

With its strong internal strength, the people of Thanh Dong will create new stages of development, extending the historical values ​​of the past 220 years," the Chairman of Hai Duong Province expressed his hope.

On this occasion, Hai Duong City awarded the title of "Outstanding Citizen" to 16 individuals and commended 22 exemplary figures in the "People of Thanh Dong - Speaking Kind Words, Performing Beautiful Deeds" movement, and presented numerous awards for valuable musical compositions, sculptures, and written works.
