23 military schools are recruiting over 5,400 students.

The Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense has just announced the enrollment quotas for 23 military schools, with a total projected quota of over 5,400 this year, an increase of approximately 1,000 quotas compared to 2025.

Among them, the Political Officer Training School has the highest number of vacancies (779), followed by the Army Officer Training School 2 (742 vacancies), Army Officer Training School 1 (694 vacancies)... Candidates applying for admission to military universities and colleges must pass a preliminary selection process and meet the standards of the Ministry of National Defense .

Young people outside the military undergo preliminary selection at the Military Recruitment Board at the commune, ward, or special zone level; active military personnel undergo preliminary selection at the Military Recruitment Board at the regiment and equivalent level.

In 2026, the Ministry of Defence will organize the first National Defence Competency Assessment (QDA) exam, tentatively scheduled for the third week of June, after candidates complete their high school graduation exams. The exam schedule may be adjusted to align with the Ministry of Education and Training 's plans and will be announced at least one month in advance.

Candidates take the test directly on a computer; the scores are automatically graded, and the results are displayed on the screen immediately after the candidate finishes the test or the time limit expires.

The exam results will be used by military schools for admissions along with other methods such as direct admission, high school graduation exam scores, and scores from the aptitude tests of Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University.
