34 new students are exempted from tuition fees for 4 years of university, and given additional scholarships

On the morning of October 16, Ho Chi Minh City Open University opened the 2024-2025 school year. The school awarded scholarships to 493 new students with excellent achievements in entrance exams with a total value of more than 4 billion VND.

The top student in the entire school (based on high school exam scores) will receive a scholarship equivalent to 200% of the first year's tuition and 100% of the tuition in the following years.

The second prize winner of the entire school (based on high school exam scores) receives a scholarship of 180% of the first year's tuition and 100% of the tuition in the following years.

32 new students with the highest entrance exam scores by major will receive scholarships of 150% of first-year tuition and 100% of tuition in subsequent years.

In addition, the school also awards nearly 400 scholarships to students with high academic achievements: 100%, 70% and 50% of first-year tuition. Direct admission scholarships for excellent students: 50 full scholarships for 4 years of study and 50 full scholarships for 1 year of study...

Among the 5,200 new students admitted this year, there are nearly 100 international students from Laos, Cambodia, France, Philippines, Myanmar and Ghana.

Sharing with new students, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha - President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University - reminded that we are in a period of great economic and digital change and may have high demands in development. Therefore, our education will be one of the expenses that families and students themselves must prepare firmly.

"Every year, the school spends more than 40 billion VND on more than 7,000 scholarships. Therefore, you need to make an effort in studying and practicing to be able to achieve these scholarships. Always be clear-headed and resolute in saying "no" to unhealthy temptations around you to focus on studying for your goals" - Mr. Ha told the students.
