Four former US first ladies will travel to Georgia in a rare gathering to commemorate Rosalynn Carter, wife of former US President Jimmy Carter.
A memorial service for former US First Lady Rosalynn Carter was held at Glenn Memorial Church on the campus of Emory University, Georgia, on November 28.
The ceremony is open to invited guests only, including the four living former first ladies of the United States: Melania Trump, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush. US President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, as well as former President Bill Clinton, are also expected to attend the ceremony.
The memorial was part of a series of events held after Rosalynn's death, culminating in a funeral at her hometown in Plains, Sumter County, Georgia.
This will be a rare occasion for all four former US first ladies to be present at an event, especially with Mrs. Melania Trump, who has been "hiding" since leaving the White House in 2021.

Former First Lady Rosalynn died at the age of 96 on November 19. She was diagnosed with dementia in May. She had been receiving hospice care at her home in Plains since November 17.
Her marriage to Jimmy Carter lasted 77 years. During her husband's term from 1977 to 1981, she overcame the barriers of the role of a first lady by regularly attending important meetings and representing Mr. Carter on many occasions.
According to the Carter Center, former US President Carter and his wife have four children, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren after losing a grandson in 2015.
