According to the National Steering Committee 389, during the peak month of fighting, preventing and repelling smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights, from May 15 to June 15, units and localities arrested and handled 10,437 cases of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, an increase of 80.51% compared to May; collecting VND 1,279 billion for the State budget, an increase of 258.43% compared to May.

Of these, 1,936 cases of trading and transporting prohibited and smuggled goods were recorded, up 173.45% compared to May; 6,870 cases of trade fraud and tax fraud were recorded, up 50.72% compared to May; 1,631 cases of counterfeit goods and intellectual property infringement were recorded, up 216.09% compared to May. In addition, units and localities also temporarily detained goods and exhibits worth an estimated more than VND4,075 billion and prosecuted 204 cases, with 378 defendants.

Also through the work of inspection, examination, and combating smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights, in the first 6 months of 2025, units and localities arrested and handled 49,714 cases of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and tax fraud, collecting nearly 6,500 billion VND for the budget, and criminally prosecuting 1,899 cases, with 3,217 subjects.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the efforts of ministries, branches, localities and functional forces who have actively and proactively taken professional measures, promptly detected, arrested and strictly handled violations of the law related to smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights within their authority, contributing to stabilizing the market, protecting the rights and interests of businesses and consumers, ensuring security and order, and serving the country's socio -economic development.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directed: in the coming time, relevant agencies and units will continue to step up the fight, prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights; continue to review difficulties and obstacles to propose timely amendments, supplements and replacements, and gradually perfect institutions and legal regulations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of anti-smuggling and trade fraud work; declare war, be uncompromising, and wipe out crimes of production, circulation, trading and selling fake drugs and fake food; functional forces will continuously mobilize, without rest, without restricted areas, handle one case to alert the whole region, work day and night, and work overtime on holidays; Central and local ministries and branches need to launch emulation movements so that each citizen is a soldier on the front line of declaring war on counterfeit goods, and is also a smart consumer in the market, while at the same time promoting propaganda, education, and dissemination of laws to organizations, individuals, and people to contribute to raising awareness and compliance with legal regulations; People's Committees of provinces and cities should soon complete the local Steering Committee 389 after merging provinces and cities and implementing the 2-level local government model to advise and direct the effective implementation of anti-smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods...
