The highlight was the inauguration ceremony of the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Dong Anh, Hanoi. Alongside this were five socio -economic infrastructure projects, encompassing transportation, industry, urban development, and tourism, in Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Ha Tinh, Tay Ninh, and Dong Nai provinces.
The series of events organized by Vingroup Corporation is part of the program for the Inauguration and Commencement of projects and works to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
The General Secretary , the Prime Minister, and other delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the National Exhibition and Convention Center - a key national project. |
In particular, the inauguration of the National Exhibition and Convention Center at Tu Lien Bridge, Dong Anh, Hanoi, was honored as the central event of the program, with the presence of General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with members of the Politburo, former members of the Politburo, members of the Central Committee of the Party, leaders and former leaders of the Party and State, leaders of central and local departments and ministries.
Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the National Exhibition and Convention Center, completed in nearly 10 months, promises to be a space that will contribute to promoting the development of Vietnam's cultural and entertainment industries.
The Prime Minister also commended the determination of businesses, especially private enterprises, in building and developing national infrastructure with the spirit: "What is said must be done, what is committed must be fulfilled. What is done, what is committed must yield concrete results. And today, we have proven this."
According to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the projects inaugurated and commenced today are also proof of Vietnam's ability to rise up, be self-reliant, and master technology in developing socio-economic infrastructure, aiming to create projects in Vietnam, by Vietnamese people, and invested in and implemented by Vietnamese people.
"Hopefully, we will have more iconic landmarks of Vietnam, which will be mentioned and admired by friends in the region and around the world," the Prime Minister expressed his confidence.
The National Exhibition and Convention Center, with a total area of over 900,000 m2, is positioned to become the largest exhibition center complex in Southeast Asia and among the top 10 largest exhibition centers in the world.
At the heart of the complex is the Kim Quy Exhibition Building – an iconic structure with a massive 24,000-ton, 56-meter-high steel dome, modeled after the image of the Golden Turtle God – a mythical creature associated with the legends of the Co Loa heritage site. Spanning approximately 130,000 square meters, the Kim Quy Exhibition Building is designed with nine main halls and one central hall, making it an ideal space for hosting thematic exhibitions and large-scale events, with a diverse system of halls and optimized space for various types of displays.
The exhibition ecosystem also includes a permanent exhibition center (Block A); 4 outdoor exhibition areas (East - West - South - North); Vietnam's largest international-standard convention center - VinPalace Co Loa, spanning 16,800 m2, with 12 banquet and conference halls of varying capacities from hundreds to over 5,000 people. In addition, there are exhibition support areas such as green parks and a regulating lake; a food court of over 3,000 m2; and a parking lot of over 18 hectares with a capacity of over 10,000 spaces...
General Secretary To Lam, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, presented the First Class Labor Order to Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, Chairman of Vingroup, for the Group's exceptionally outstanding achievements at the National Exhibition and Convention Center. |
After nearly 10 months of rapid construction, the National Exhibition and Convention Center has been officially inaugurated, ready for the nation's momentous event commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day: the Exhibition of National Achievements with the theme: 80 Years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness.
The second highlight was the inauguration ceremony of the Máy Chai Bridge (Royal Bridge) and its approach roads, part of the Vu Yen Island Entertainment, Housing, and Ecological Park Project (Vinhomes Royal Island) in Hai Phong. Nearly 2.2 km long and 21 m wide with four lanes, the bridge starts on Vu Yen Island and ends at the intersection with Le Thanh Tong Street, shortening travel time from the island to the city center to less than 5 minutes.
Besides improving traffic flow, the Royal Bridge is also a new symbol of Hai Phong with its unique design: the two bridgehead towers are shaped like arched domes, evoking the image of birds soaring high, and also creating a "World Gateway Bridge" as a friendly invitation to groundbreaking investment and business opportunities in the region.
The third milestone is the groundbreaking ceremony for an 18-hole international standard golf course in Quang Hanh, Quang Ninh, covering approximately 100 hectares. The unique feature of the course is its layout, with holes designed to follow the sloping valley terrain, nestled amidst natural forests. It offers both forest views and direct views of Ha Long Bay, providing a special sense of adventure for players. This design was advised by the renowned contemporary designer, Doughh Carrick, known for his philosophy of preserving pristine nature. Once operational, the project will contribute to elevating Quang Ninh's status in the fields of tourism and sports.
At the same time, the Vinhomes Vũng Áng industrial park, covering nearly 965 hectares, also commenced construction. |
The fourth project is the Vinhomes industrial park infrastructure development and operation project, which commenced in Vung Ang, Ha Tinh. Located in lots CN4 and CN5 of the Vung Ang Economic Zone, the project spans nearly 965 hectares – one of the largest in the region – and boasts a modern and integrated infrastructure system including factories, ports, and logistics facilities. In the future, it will be a hub for leading national and regional businesses in the fields of industry, high technology, logistics, and export, contributing to local economic development and providing impetus for Vietnamese businesses to expand globally.
Next up is the fifth landmark – Tay Ninh, with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Phuoc Vinh Tay new urban area project, covering approximately 1,089.6 hectares. The project will be developed according to an ecological, smart, and sustainable urban model, with a complete ecosystem of education, commerce, healthcare, etc., and will be a leading large-scale urban project in the area in the future.
The sixth event was the groundbreaking ceremony for Component Project 1: Investment and construction of the Western North-South Expressway section from Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) to Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc), Dong Nai province. The expressway has a total length of approximately 124.13 km (23.1 km through Dak Nong and 101.03 km through Binh Phuoc) with a complete 6-lane design. The project is strategically significant in connecting the Central Highlands with the Southeast region, especially connecting Dak Nong and Binh Phuoc provinces with Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to the exploitation of the region's economic potential and creating new development momentum for the two key economic regions.
With the simultaneous inauguration and commencement of national-scale infrastructure projects, creating momentum for socio-economic development, transportation, industry, urbanization, and tourism in six major provinces and cities across the country, Vingroup has demonstrated the pioneering role of the private sector in building Vietnam's internal strength, in the nation's 80-year journey of construction, innovation, and reaching for global prominence.
