Stock market on December 11th: Large-cap stocks heavily sold, VN-Index loses the 1,700-point mark.

On December 11th, investor caution led to a rather sluggish trading session on the Vietnamese stock market, with reduced liquidity. Increased and widespread selling pressure across many sectors, especially VinGroup stocks, caused the VN-Index to fall below the 1,700-point mark. At the close of trading, the VN-Index decreased by 20.08 points to 1,698.9 points.

Market liquidity continued to decline compared to the previous session, with a total trading volume of over 669 million shares across all three exchanges, equivalent to a total trading value of over 17,528 billion VND.

Foreign investors continued to net sell across all three exchanges, totaling over 537 billion VND, focusing on stocks such as VIC (192.22 billion VND), STB (158.46 billion VND), VHM (104.89 billion VND), GMD (102.18 billion VND),SHB (63.73 billion VND), etc.

Conversely, the stocks that saw significant net buying in this session includedFPT (VND 240.26 billion), MBB (VND 71.32 billion), VIX (VND 51.58 billion), VPL (VND 49.7 billion), HPG (VND 33.8 billion), etc.

On the HoSE exchange, the trading value in this session decreased compared to the previous session, reaching over 13,662 billion VND.

In this session, the stocks that contributed positively to the VN-Index's increase of 1.51 points included: SAB, BMP, LPB, KBC, FPT, VIX, GEX, QCG, PGV, and BVH.

Conversely, the stocks that negatively impacted the VN-Index, causing it to drop by 14.18 points, included: VIC, VHM, VPL, VPB, VCB, VJC, GEE, VNM, TCX, and MBB.

In terms of sectors, software stocks performed positively in this session, rising 0.41%, mainly driven by FPT, CMG, ITD, HPT, etc.

The securities sector stocks were mostly in the red this session, falling by 0.78%, mainly due to declines in TCX, SSI, HCM, VCI, SHS, FUEVFVND, FTS, BSI, DSE, E1VFVN30… Conversely, a few stocks rose, including VIX, AAS, ABW, SBS, PSI, FUEDCMID, WSS, HVA, FUESSV30…

The banking sector stocks traded mostly in the red, closing down 0.9%, mainly driven by VCB, CTG, BID, TCB, VPB, MBB,ACB , HDB, STB, SHB, VIB… A few stocks rose, including LPB, NAB, ABB…

Real estate stocks were mostly in the red this session, falling by 1.38%, mainly due to declines in VIC, VHM, BCM, VRE, KSF, NVL, PDR, DXG, TAL, TCH, SJS, IDC, NLG… Conversely, gainers included KBC, SIP, VCR, RGG, QCG, VC3, HQC, LHG, HPX…

Energy stocks were mostly in the red this session, falling 0.53%, mainly due to declines in BSR, PLX, PVS, PVT, VTO, VIP, TMB, CST, TVD, VTV, HLC, etc. Stocks that rose included PVD, OIL, PVC, GSP, PVB, COM, PPT, etc.

The materials sector stocks were mostly in the red this session, falling 0.16%, mainly due to declines in HPG, GVR, DGC, DCM, DPM, HSG, PHR, HT1, VIF, TVN… Conversely, gainers included MSR, KSV, NTP, VCS, ACG, TRC, LIC, PLC, MTA…

Insurance stocks traded mostly in the green, closing up 0.34%, mainly driven by BVH, MIG, BMI, PRE, PGI, BLI… A few stocks declined, including BIC and VNR…

Retail stocks performed negatively, falling 0.7%, mainly due to declines in stocks like MWG, PNJ, HUT, DGW, PET, SVC, HAX, PSD, TSC, HAM… Conversely, gainers included FRT, HHS, C69, SHN, HTC, HTL, AMP, KDM…

* The Vietnamese stock market index was in the red today, with the VNXALL-Index closing down 26.02 points (-0.9%) at 2,860.24 points. Trading volume exceeded 618.87 million units, equivalent to a trading value of over 16,579.72 billion VND. Across the market, 136 stocks increased in price, 113 remained unchanged, and 223 decreased.

* On the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index closed at 255.87 points, down 0.61 points (-0.24%). Total trading volume reached over 46.84 million shares, with a corresponding transaction value of over 867.16 billion VND. Across the entire market, 67 stocks increased in price, 59 remained unchanged, and 73 decreased.

The HNX30 index closed down 0.22 points (-0.04%), at 552.89 points. Trading volume reached over 28 million units, with a corresponding value of over 674.35 billion VND. Across the market, there were 8 gainers, 10 unchanged stocks, and 12 losers.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM-Index closed at 119.99 points, up 0.88 points (+0.74%). Total market liquidity reached over 30.31 million shares traded, with a corresponding trading value of over 416.63 billion VND. Across the market, 120 stocks increased in price, 92 remained unchanged, and 112 decreased.

* On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed down 20.08 points (-1.17%), at 1,698.9 points. Trading volume reached over 592.55 million units, equivalent to a transaction value of VND 16,244.27 billion. Across the entire exchange, there were 104 gainers, 75 unchanged stocks, and 192 losers.

The VN30 index fell 22.69 points (-1.17%) to 1,924.29 points. Trading volume reached over 232.5 million units, equivalent to a transaction value of over 9,146.83 billion VND. Among the VN30 stocks, 3 increased, 1 remained unchanged, and 26 decreased in price.

The top 5 stocks with the highest trading volume are VIX (over 24.94 million units), HAG (over 23.49 million units), HQC (over 19.7 million units), GEX (over 9.6 million units), and TTF (over 7.9 million units).

The top 5 gainers were BMP (+7%), HVX (+6.98%), QCG (+6.82%), SHI (+6.76%), and TNC (+6.71%).
