The Ministry of Education and Training has just sent a document to universities regarding the adjustment of the virtual admission and screening plan for 2025.
Adjust to increase virtual filtering by 4 times
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2025, the number of candidates registering for university and college admission will be higher, and it will also be the first year that colleges will participate in admission, no longer have early admission, and will use all admission methods in the first round.
To ensure accurate, fair and objective admission results, the Ministry of Education and Training recommends that schools focus on carefully reviewing all data, admission methods and situations in the context of many candidate data being used for admission to ensure that no candidates are missed or incorrectly admitted during the admission process; and limit the occurrence of handling errors during the admission process.

In addition, schools carefully calculate options and propose appropriate virtual ratios to avoid creating large virtual numbers, affecting the recruitment sources of other schools as well as recruiting beyond the school's quota and training capacity.
To ensure that schools have time to implement the above requirements, the Ministry of Education and Training will extend the time for organizing admission exams and processing admission requests on the system.
The plan for organizing the admission exam and processing admission applications on the system is specifically adjusted as follows:
The Ministry of Education and Training recommends that schools not announce admission scores before the final virtual filtering on the system.
The announcement of admission scores, admission results and confirmation of admission of candidates continues to be carried out in accordance with the plan for implementing university and college admissions in 2025.
The deadline for schools to announce benchmark scores is still guaranteed before 5:00 p.m. on August 22.
Previously, according to the plan, the virtual filtering process would end at 4:30 p.m. on August 20. From 5 p.m. on the same day, schools could announce the benchmark scores.
Some schools plan to announce their admission scores by the end of this afternoon (August 20), such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Academy of Public Administration and Management, University of Transport Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, University of Economics and Law; University of Science and Technology - Ho Chi Minh National University...
However, according to the adjusted plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, the virtual filtering will be done 4 more times, after 6 times as originally planned. Therefore, the virtual filtering process will end at 12:30 on August 22. After this time, universities will be able to announce the benchmark scores. Thus, the schools cannot announce the benchmark scores this afternoon as originally planned.
Speaking to VietNamNet reporters on the afternoon of August 20, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son said that the Ministry has just issued an official dispatch adjusting the virtual filtering plan in university admissions in 2025 to review more carefully before announcing. However, according to Mr. Son, candidates can rest assured that, according to the new dispatch, the deadline for schools to announce the results of the first round of admission scores in 2025 is still guaranteed before 5:00 p.m. on August 22.
“In the previous document, the virtual filtering plan would end early, from this afternoon, August 20. But in the new document, the virtual filtering will be done 4 more times and will end at 12:30 on August 22. Thus, in essence, it will extend the technical time. The Ministry of Education and Training wants to do this so that before announcing, schools need to carefully review to ensure accuracy when announcing. The deadline for announcing the benchmark scores will not be delayed compared to the original plan,” said Mr. Son.
Before the Ministry of Education and Training's adjustment plan, on the afternoon of August 20, VietNamNet reporters recorded opinions from schools about the time to announce the latest benchmark scores.
Representatives of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade and Economics and Law said that the announcement of the benchmark scores will be postponed to August 22, instead of the original plan scheduled for this afternoon, August 20.
At Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Associate Professor Bui Hoai Thang, Head of Training Department, said that the benchmark scores will be announced on August 22 instead of this evening.
Associate Professor To Van Phuong, Head of Training Department (Nha Trang University) also said that the school will postpone the announcement of benchmark scores to August 22 instead of this afternoon, August 20 as previously planned.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology - the unit in charge of the Northern region's admission group - also said that the results of the Northern region's university admissions will be announced at 4:00 p.m. on August 22.
