The door to global knowledge for young Vietnamese people
Over the past 3 years, the Representative Office of The University of Hong Kong in Vietnam (HKU Vietnam) has accompanied thousands of students and parents through consulting activities, seminars, and experiential programs. Since then, hundreds of Vietnamese students have been officially admitted and studied at HKU, with a total scholarship value of up to 126 billion VND, a number that affirms the huge investment in the future of Vietnamese talents.
Not only stopping at scholarships, HKU Vietnam also organizes more than 50 academic events, many Vietnam - Hong Kong exchange programs, and international conferences with the participation of the world's leading scholars. These activities have created a multidimensional academic - cultural bridge, bringing Vietnamese students direct access to advanced knowledge and global career trends.
Excellence Award - proof of prestige and contributions
On September 16, 2025, at the Conference to summarize the 2024-2025 school year and deploy tasks for the 2025-2026 school year organized by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, HKU Vietnam was honored to receive the Award for Excellence in management and operation of non-public educational institutions.
This prestigious award is selected annually for educational institutions based on strict evaluation criteria of transparency, management effectiveness and practical contributions to the educational community.
For HKU Vietnam, this is not only a source of pride but also a recognition of its persistent efforts in providing international learning opportunities, while contributing to improving the quality and diversifying the non-public education ecosystem in Vietnam.
Future directions: Expanding research, training and cooperation
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Quang Tuan - Chief Representative of HKU Vietnam, shared: “This award is a driving force for us to continue to innovate and expand cooperation. In the coming time, HKU Vietnam will strengthen research activities, organize many international conferences, and develop short-term training programs right in Vietnam so that students can experience international education quality without having to travel far. We also focus on deeper cooperation with domestic universities to jointly improve quality and diversify the educational ecosystem.”
Currently, HKU is pushing to incorporate global training trends into its teaching – from AI, big data to ESG and FinTech. These are areas where HKU has been at the forefront with many internationally recognized programs, including certificates such as Applied ESG and Intelligent Technologies or Green Finance and ESG Analytics.
HKU has also been honored at the QS Reimagine Education Awards for its innovative teaching methods. Through HKU Vietnam, students will have the opportunity to access international quality education right on the spot, while also contributing to training a generation of young Vietnamese intellectuals capable of leading in the digital age and sustainable development.
From scholarships that have given wings to hundreds of young Vietnamese talents to the Ho Chi Minh City Education Sector Excellence Award, HKU Vietnam has affirmed its pioneering role as one of the few representative offices of international universities in Vietnam. With a vision for the future, HKU Vietnam will continue to promote its strengths in research, education and social impact, which will be the foundation for HKU Vietnam to not only accompany the young generation, but also contribute to enhancing the position of Vietnamese education in the global academic landscape.
