Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Phong Dien, Deputy Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said that in the 2024-2025 school year, the university has put into operation more than 30 new laboratories serving training and research and is continuing to invest in a total of 40 new basic training laboratories for most engineering and technology fields, aiming to develop an additional 100 - 120 specialized laboratories, as a foundation for international research cooperation, technology commercialization and innovation.
The work of innovating and standardizing training content and methods according to international standards has moved to the second innovation cycle, phase 2025-2030, with many new points such as improving digital and AI capacity, specialized foreign languages, and professional practice skills for new-generation learners. Up to now, about 80% of university training programs have been accredited by prestigious international organizations such as HCERES, AUN-QA, ASIIN, and AQAS. The specialized engineering program according to the new standards of Hanoi University of Science and Technology has had its first graduation class and received special attention from large enterprises and corporations.
During the past academic year, the School implemented 36 international student exchange and research programs, including 14 programs combining study and business experience abroad. Nearly 200 students studied, interned and conducted research abroad; more than 300 teachers participated in international academic programs. At the same time, the School also welcomed more than 350 international students and nearly 100 international lecturers and experts to cooperate in research and teaching.
For the new students of K70, Associate Professor Nguyen Phong Dien shared that youth is not just a period, but a special stage, where people possess all their strength, from physical, mental to intellectual. "The privilege of youth is time", because youth is the stage with a lot of time and energy to explore , experiment and stumble, thereby accumulating experience to mature and find the best version of themselves. This is the golden time to live fully with passion, face challenges and pursue dreams. However, this privilege does not last forever. Young people need to cherish and use this precious time effectively to mature and progress.
“Students need to know how to choose knowledge, balance study time - entertainment - sports training, to develop harmoniously both intelligence, physical strength and personality. Hanoi University of Science and Technology is not only a place to study professional subjects, but also a miniature society, where students learn cultural behavior, practice collective spirit, community responsibility and nurture their great aspirations. That is also the aspiration of the family, of the teachers, and the expectation of society for students - engineers, scientists , future leaders of the country", Associate Professor Dien said.
Representing the new students, Pham Quynh Anh, K70, Mathematics - Information Technology major, affirmed that the new students have just gone through one of the most rigorous exams in their student life, and today, being here, we have the right to be proud of ourselves and feel that the nights of studying hard, the mornings of rushing to class, the lunches of skipping meals, the drops of sweat, the tears... have all paid off.
According to Quynh Anh, in the near future, students will be exposed to a completely new environment, a new training method that requires independence and autonomy in living and studying. The road ahead awaits new students with many opportunities and challenges. Quynh Anh hopes that she and her friends will always continue to move forward, not afraid of falling to become stronger, not afraid of making mistakes to learn how to do the right thing, not afraid of difficulties to grow up.
