On the afternoon of August 18th, the official fanpage of the 8Wonder – Moments of Wonder 2025 music festival unexpectedly released the full lineup, causing social media to almost explode with excitement over this year's lineup. From global names like DJ Snake, J Balvin, The Kid Laroi, DPR Ian to Vietnamese representatives Soobin and Hoa Minzy, the atmosphere was already heated, but things truly reached a fever pitch when two new names: tlinh and Trong Hieu were announced.
Possessing explosive stage energy, Trong Hieu will make his debut at 8Wonder with hit songs that reflect the modern spirit of Gen Z. Thanks to his captivating performance, international style, and exceptional audience engagement skills, he promises to electrify the National Exhibition Center with an unforgettable, vibrant, and inspiring performance.
Meanwhile, tlinh – a unique and charismatic Gen Z female rapper – will be the first Vietnamese artist to participate in the Wonder Sound Lab project, which is likened to a music "laboratory" and also serves as a creative launching pad for 8WONDER. Wonder Sound Lab opens the way to creating musical wonders.
According to the organizers, the project is a place where Vietnamese music is tested, innovated, and blended with the best of international artists, bringing pioneering collaborations for the first time in the history of Vietnamese music. This means that Wonder Sound Lab will mark the first time a Vietnamese artist officially collaborates with world-class stars right on the stage of a major music festival in their homeland.
The organizers haven't revealed which international star will be sharing the stage with Tlinh, but the unprecedented "twist" has left audiences on the edge of their seats, quickly igniting excitement in the music community: "No need to fly to Coachella or Lollapalooza anymore, Dong Anh is the center of the world music scene right now."
Besides that, many audience members expressed pride, saying: “I went to see it not only because of DPR Ian, but also because it was the first time I saw Vietnamese people on the same stage, with the same vibe as world stars. I'm so proud!” “Witnessing Vietnamese artists singing with international stars on the best stage ever, I realize that Vietnamese music has truly reached a new level.”
A turning point for Vietnamese music.
Looking back, it's clear that over the years, many international stars have come to Vietnam to perform, such as BlackPink, Charlie Puth, Imagine Dragons, Ronan Keating, Backstreet Boys, Michael Learns to Rock… but they usually perform with their "original" sets.
Collaborations between Vietnamese artists and international artists, if any, are mostly in the form of a joint project on a music video or album. Sơn Tùng M-TP's 2019 music video " Hãy trao cho anh" (Give Me Your Love) , a collaboration with Snoop Dogg, is one example.
