932 hectares of rice fields were flattened due to heavy rain and strong winds.

Heavy rain and strong winds caused by the cold front have flattened approximately 932 hectares of rice fields in the flowering stage in Quang Tri province, with the most damage occurring in Hai Lang district.

According to the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue in Quang Tri province, the heavy rain and strong winds that occurred on the night of April 12th and the morning of April 13th caused approximately 932 hectares of rice fields in localities across the province to be flattened, with many areas completely flattened.

The area of ​​rice fields most affected by lodging was recorded in Hai Lang district at 630 hectares. Meanwhile, Trieu Phong district had 198 hectares, Gio Linh district 84 hectares, and Cam Lo district 20 hectares.

Earlier in February 2025, the impact of a verstärkt cold front caused heavy rains, flooding over 3,963 hectares of newly sown rice in Quang Tri province. Hai Lang district suffered the most severe damage with 2,744 hectares. Other affected areas included: Trieu Phong district with 500.8 hectares flooded, Vinh Linh district with 44 hectares, Gio Linh district with 527 hectares, Cam Lo district with 3 hectares, and Dong Ha city with 145 hectares.
