Earlier, at around 6:30 AM on the same day, at the community beach in Ben Hai commune, residents discovered a fishing boat, 5.8m long and 1.8m wide, drifting ashore. The boat still had its machinery, fishing gear, and a mobile phone on board.
Immediately afterwards, the unit coordinated with the local authorities to make a widespread announcement. At 7:00 AM the same day, Ms. Ho Thi Tinh (born in 1984), residing in An Hoa 2 village, Cua Tung commune, came to confirm that it was her family's fishing boat.
According to initial information from the family, the fishing boat that drifted ashore belonged to Mr. Ho Ngoc Chau (born in 1982), residing in An Hoa 2 village, Cua Tung commune, who regularly used it for coastal fishing in the waters of Cua Tung commune. The initial assessment suggests that Mr. Chau may have fallen into the sea.
The Cua Viet Port Border Guard Station has notified other forces to gather information and deploy search teams to look for the suspected missing fishermen.
