A SUPPORT SYSTEM AMIDST THE FIGHT AGAINST ILLNESS
Amidst the cramped rows of rented rooms surrounding Military Hospital 120 are the makeshift living quarters of many chronic kidney disease patients. They come from various provinces in the Mekong Delta, and these patients hope to prolong their lives through regular dialysis treatments.
For over two years, Mrs. NTH (residing in Cai Be commune) has been practically inseparable from her dialysis machine. Three dialysis sessions per week have progressively weakened her health, and the treatment costs have become a heavy burden on her already struggling family.
Her life now revolves around her small rented room near the hospital. During her most desperate moments, the care and support from the "Sharing Love" group has given her renewed strength.

"I'm so happy and grateful... People coming to share their support gives me more motivation to continue treatment. My circumstances are very difficult, so this help is invaluable," Mrs. NTH said, her voice choked with emotion.
It's not just Ms. NTH; many patients in the "dialysis neighborhood" are facing daily physical pain and mental stress.
Mr. NVN (from Vinh Long province), once deeply involved with the stage, has had to put his passion aside for the past five years to live with his illness. Far from his family, he ekes out a living alone in a foreign land, and his dialysis machine has become an integral part of his life.
The deep needle marks on his arm are a testament to the painful journey he has endured. However, the support of generous donors and the Sharing Love Group has given him renewed hope.
“The support group helped with expenses, bought medicine, bought milk… I’m very happy. I feel like I can still live. I’m so glad about everyone’s collective efforts,” Mr. NVN shared.
SPREADING LOVE THROUGH SIMPLE THINGS
Beyond material support, the most valuable thing the "Sharing Love" Group provides is emotional encouragement – simple yet heartwarming words of encouragement and sharing.
Ms. Le Ha (Thoi Son ward) said that each trip makes her appreciate the value of sharing even more: "We only hope to contribute a small part to warm the hearts of the people. We hope that more philanthropists will join hands so that the help can spread more widely."
Sharing the same sentiment, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy (My Tho ward) said: “These gifts today are a token of the generosity of benefactors to our people. We hope they will give everyone more motivation for treatment. For us, 'giving is forever' is what we always strive for.”

Amidst the struggle with illness, human kindness is the most precious source of emotional support for dialysis patients. Though the gifts may not be large, they contain care and compassion, helping to alleviate hardship and instill hope in many less fortunate individuals.
The nearly 20-year journey of the "Sharing Love" group continues, quietly but persistently. In the "dialysis patient community," a place seemingly filled only with pain and exhaustion, the warmth of human kindness is always present – a light that helps the people here to keep moving forward with faith.
