An Giang: The "Sweet Fruits" of Emulation

Fresh breezes

Whenever she teaches the reception skills course, Ms. Dang Nu Hoang Phuc, a lecturer in the Tourism Department at Kien Giang Vocational College, tries her best to convey knowledge and show videos illustrating credit card payment procedures. However, students are still confused when they start internships and work at businesses. After much deliberation, Ms. Phuc came up with the idea of creating hotel management software and a model simulating credit card payments.

The software was successfully implemented and enthusiastically received by students. With this initiative, Master's student Dang Nu Hoang Phuc won first prize at the provincial and national self-made training equipment competition in 2022 and was awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in 2023. Dynamic, creative, and achieving many accomplishments in the emulation of excellent and creative labor, Master's student Dang Nu Hoang Phuc is a model trade union member attending the first Provincial Emulation Congress for Patriotic Labor, 2025-2030.

At Agimexpharm Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (hereinafter referred to as Agimexpharm), the movement to promote excellent and innovative labor is always vibrant, becoming an important driving force to promote the improvement of productivity, quality, and efficiency of work. From 2022 to the present, many collectives and individuals have contributed numerous projects and initiatives, with a total value of over 20 billion VND benefiting the company.

Agimexpharm has 10 production lines, primarily operating in the manufacturing and trading of pharmaceuticals, chemical drugs, medicinal herbs, nutritional foods, cosmetics, and medical equipment. Mr. Huynh Mai An Thinh, Director of Quality Control and Chairman of the Agimexpharm Trade Union, stated that the unit established a Committee for Emulation Movements to implement a widespread and effective emulation movement for excellent and innovative labor; proactively proposing timely awards to the Board of Directors, creating motivation for nearly 500 union members and employees to enthusiastically participate.

From there, many exemplary individuals have emerged, representing the spirit of creativity and daring to think and act. Between 2023 and 2025, nine union members received commendations from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, two received the Ton Duc Thang Award, one received the Nguyen Huu Canh Award, and two were awarded the title of Outstanding Intellectual in Science and Technology of the province in 2025.

Widespread dissemination

To innovate the emulation and reward system among workers, civil servants, and employees, and in trade union activities, the Provincial Federation of Labor annually directs trade unions at all levels to implement and launch emulation movements among union members and employees, linking them to the performance of tasks and socio-economic development in each industry, locality, unit, and enterprise.

Mr. Do Tran Thinh - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor, said: “The emulation movement launched by the Trade Unions at all levels clearly demonstrates its role as the core in implementing the province's overall patriotic emulation movement. The emulation movement for excellent and creative labor promotes the dynamism and creativity of union members and workers in labor, production, and work.”

During the period 2023-2025, 3,036 units, enterprises, and establishments, with over 48,700 union members and workers, registered to carry out emulation projects and tasks. The Provincial Labor Union recognized 598 emulation projects and products, with a total value of nearly 16.8 billion VND in benefits; 108,701 initiatives were recognized, with a value of over 60.7 billion VND in benefits. Thousands of collectives and individuals received prestigious titles and awards, including emulation flags and certificates of merit from the provincial to the central level.

The "sweet fruits" of emulation in excellent and creative labor are not only reflected in economic efficiency and the value generated for the company, but also in the strong development of a workforce with high professional qualifications, competence, and enthusiasm, with the desire to contribute to building An Giang and developing a strong and sustainable trade union organization.
