On the evening of August 24, at Ba Dinh Square, the second rehearsal of the parade took place in preparation for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2 - (Mission A80). Participating in the rehearsal were 4 Honor Guards; 43 groups representing the People's Armed Forces (26 Army groups, 17 Police groups); foreign military groups; military vehicles, artillery , special vehicles... One of the highlights in the weapons and equipment manufactured, developed and modernized by the Vietnamese defense industry. Typically, the improved T-54B tanks lead the way for the mechanized sector.
These are heavily armored fortresses, equipped with powerful 100mm guns along with 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine guns and powerful 7.62mm machine guns. With a crew of four, they are the perfect combination of strong firepower, high mobility and good self-protection. Especially the intelligently improved T-54B version, along with the skillful control of the vehicle members, is truly a combat weapon that brings high performance on all battlefields. Right behind the tanks is a block of armored vehicles, with the highlight being the XCB-01 armored vehicle made in Vietnam. This is a mobile infantry fighting vehicle integrated with modern technology that can carry up to 8 soldiers and a crew of 3. The XCB-01 has a total weight of about 15 tons, is equipped with a 73mm main gun with 40 rounds, uses a semi-automatic loading system, providing suppressive fire with armor-piercing and high-explosive fragmentation rounds. Along with that is a 7.62mm PTK parallel machine gun with 2,000 rounds and a 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun on the turret roof with 200 rounds - Another Vietnamese-made armored vehicle that will participate in the A80 mission is the XTC-02. This is an armored combat vehicle equipped with a 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun, as well as a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun.
XTC-02 can carry 9 soldiers and a crew of 3. These modern combat vehicles have undergone training, exercises and achieved excellent results, contributing to enhancing the combat strength of the Vietnam People's Army. XCB-01 and XTC-02 are also proof of the remarkable development of Vietnam's defense industry. Next is the Truong Son missile complex, independently researched and produced by the Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group; including a combat command vehicle, radar vehicle, launcher vehicle, missile transport and loading vehicle; with the task of observing the sea surface, collecting and processing information, directing targets; selecting targets to destroy and carrying out missile strikes. Each command vehicle of the Truong Son missile complex is capable of controlling 8 self-propelled launchers at the same time in the combat area. Each launcher carries 4 "Red River" missiles completely researched, designed and manufactured by Viettel. Truong Son missile complex is independently produced by Viettel Group. S-125-VT air defense missile system, a modernized version of the S-125M air defense missile system by Viettel. This is a complex with high mobility, reliability and combat effectiveness in modern combat environments. In training missions, the S-125VT always achieves excellent results, affirming its outstanding technical features with high reliability, meeting current combat requirements.
In the photo is the VRS-2DM low-altitude radar system, also researched and produced by Viettel. The VRS-2DM systems play a special role in air defense operations, performing surveillance tasks and providing precise target indications for air defense missile systems, contributing to firmly protecting the airspace of the Fatherland. Next is the VRS-MSSS 3D surveillance radar complex. This is a modern multi-mission radar system capable of medium-range surveillance and enhanced air support for air force units. Finally, there is the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Complex researched and produced by Viettel, including reconnaissance UAVs that detect and identify targets with high precision day and night, along with tactical combat UAVs capable of effectively attacking ground targets.
There are also suicide UAVs produced by the General Department of Defense Industry, which can be equipped with various weapons to attack armored targets or used for reconnaissance, surveillance and rescue purposes. Tactical combat UAVs with a maximum cruise speed of 120km/h, allowing for covert attacks and can be deployed to the soldier level.
