A goal explosion
With 342 goals scored in 94 qualifying matches, the teams demonstrated a high level of dedication. Notable goalscorers included Tran Duc Hoan of the Water Resources University team with 7 goals. He also set a record in the qualifying round by scoring 5 goals in a single match. Several players scored 4 goals in a single match, such as Vu Viet Hoang ( Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports), Nguyen Phu Hong Phuc (Dong Nai University of Technology), Luong Duy Bao (Van Hien University), and Nguyen Van Duc (Lac Hong University).
Despite scoring many goals, several teams also kept clean sheets throughout the qualifying round, such as Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, Thuy Loi University, and Dong Thap University.

More than just winning or losing, coaches and players from many teams, after the qualifying rounds, shared their appreciation for participating in the THACO Student Cup, thanks to the thoughtful and meticulous organization by the Organizing Committee ( Thanh Nien Newspaper and VFF). This gave them a valuable opportunity and unforgettable memories during their student life. Having been eliminated in the play-offs after a tense penalty shootout against Quy Nhon University, Coach Tran Ngoc Nho of the College of Foreign Trade Economics team shared: "The whole team gave their all for our team. Although we were eliminated, we showed our character, enthusiasm, and unity. With the support from the school's administration and students, we will prepare well and aim for success in the next THACO Student Cup. Playing in the THACO Student Cup is a rare opportunity in a student's life, so not only us but all the teams want to play well and beautifully in the spirit of fair play, as the tournament's slogan suggests."
Four "strange birds" have appeared.
After nearly 20 days of competition, the qualifying rounds in 4 regions across the country have concluded, determining the 12 teams that will participate in the 2026 THACO Student Tournament Finals. Among these, teams that have previously participated in the Finals include: Water Resources University, Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Da Nang University of Sports, Quy Nhon University, Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, and Dong Nai University of Technology. Four teams are making their first appearance in the Finals: FPT Polytechnic College, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Dong Thap University, and Nha Trang University.
The Nha Trang University team, as the host team, was granted direct entry into the finals. This is the first time this team has competed in the TNSV finals, after participating in the South Central - Central Highlands regional qualifiers for two seasons (2024 and 2025).
