According to John Thorrington - President and CEO of LAFC, this number is calculated based on real-time sales data, since Son officially joined the club.
"This is the second week in a row that we're not just talking about the best-selling soccer jersey in MLS, but the best-selling jersey of any athlete in the world . Since Son signed, no one has sold more jerseys than him," said Thorrington.
Son's appeal in the US is huge, with the Los Angeles Dodgers announcing he will throw the opening pitch against the San Diego Padres on August 27. LAFC is also calling on fans to come to Dodger Stadium to witness Son's appearance at an iconic Los Angeles sports arena.
