Many believe that Apple will split the Vision product line into two variants: a Pro model and a cheaper, standard model. Apple is said to have dropped the priority of virtual reality headsets and gradually assigned fewer staff to the project.

The company has announced the suspension of production of the next generation of Vision Pro, but it is still continuing research on a more affordable and less feature-rich "Vision" product.
And recently, expert Mark Gurman stated that Apple's VR team is actively developing new devices to compete with Meta. Among the products being considered is the lower-priced Vision Pro model.
The cheaper version of Vision Pro uses less expensive materials and a weaker processor compared to the first generation, and may even have to cut back on EyeSight features. However, with a more accessible price point, Apple expects sales to double compared to current levels.
The Vision Pro was Apple's first product on the virtual reality market, but its price was exorbitant, it was heavy, and prone to overheating. The device cost up to $3,500, while Meta's lighter product was priced at under $1,000.
Gurman said Apple is striving to compete with Meta and therefore needs to accelerate its innovation cycle to maintain its position.
