The National Assembly Standing Committee has issued a resolution on temporarily suspending the duties of a National Assembly deputy and allowing competent authorities to prosecute, arrest, and search Vinh Phuc Party Secretary Hoang Thi Thuy Lan.
On the evening of March 8, speaking with VietNamNet reporters, Secretary General of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong said that the National Assembly Standing Committee had issued Resolution No. 1000, temporarily suspending the duties of a National Assembly delegate and allowing competent agencies to prosecute, arrest, and search Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Vinh Phuc province.

Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan was prosecuted, arrested and searched by the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security for the crime of "Receiving bribes", as prescribed in Clause 4, Article 354 of the Penal Code.
This is part of the expanded investigation into the case of "Violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences" committed by Nguyen Van Hau and his accomplices at Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company (Phuc Son Group), Thang Long Investment, Trade and Real Estate Joint Stock Company and related units according to the Decision to initiate criminal proceedings.
Based on the testimony of Nguyen Van Hau, the defendants, related subjects, investigation documents verified in the three provinces of Vinh Phuc, Quang Ngai, Vinh Long and related units, on March 7, 2024, the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security decided to: Prosecute additional cases on the crimes of "Receiving bribes", "Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences", "Taking advantage of influence over people in positions of power for personal gain" occurring in the provinces of Vinh Phuc, Quang Ngai, Vinh Long and related units.
