"We completely reject such false information. Vietnam's consistent policy is to always facilitate foreigners' entry, exit and residence in Vietnam, thereby contributing to socio-economic development," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized. According to Ms. Hang, in recent times, Vietnamese authorities have implemented many measures to facilitate travel for foreign citizens coming to Vietnam for the purpose of studying, working, investing, researching the market and traveling in accordance with Vietnamese law. Also at the press conference, answering reporters' questions about the monkeypox epidemic in Vietnam, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared monkeypox a global public health emergency due to the rapid increase of this disease in many African countries. To promptly detect domestic and foreign cases entering Vietnam, Ms. Hang said that the authorities have proactively strengthened and guided disease prevention and control. On August 19, the Ministry of Health sent a dispatch to localities, institutes and public health agencies on methods to prevent and control monkeypox. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen communication, inspection and direction of disease prevention and control at the local level in case of an outbreak. Ms. Hang said that in the coming time, health agencies and disease prevention and control agencies will continue to assess and monitor to promptly take measures to ensure people's safety.
