The workshop brought together experts' perspectives on Korean cinema, including the presentation of Master Hoang Da Vu on "The beauty and power of folk art in Im Kwon Taek's films"; Dr. Dao Le Na on "Restructuring tradition through the image of women and family space in post-war Korean cinema"; Dr. Nguyen Phuong Khanh on "The process of de-centering the Korean sci-fi genre - seen from the case of Save the Green Planet"...
Director Kim Hong Joon, Director of the Korean Film Institute, said that having new human resources is one of the factors to innovate the film industry. However, he added: "The most important reason is that the government has funded a lot of filmmaking. We need a capable filmmaking force, besides, human resources willing to learn new knowledge from all over the world . For cinema to develop, we need the support of the government and the attention of society, and steadfastness in innovation to create quality products." Mr. Kim Hong Joon emphasized that Vietnamese cinema always has the strong support of Korean cinema.
Ms. Ngo Thi Bich Hanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Association for the Promotion of Cinema Development, also assessed that Korean cinema has many factors for success such as policies to support filmmaking, having major film festivals, and accompanying cinemas of countries in the Asian region... Regarding the promotion of new film projects, Mr. Kim Hong Joon said that sending projects to participate in film festivals is also a way to bring works to the world. Besides, translating films into foreign languages is also a way to help popularize works.
Director Phan Gia Nhat Linh shared that in the past 10 years, since Em la ba noi cua anh , from the role of a "learner" through remaking Korean films, the male director affirmed that now Vietnam can also confidently "work with" the Korean side, from the script stage to film production and promotion. "The future trend for cooperation is not only in production, but also in common development and international competition. This not only helps Vietnam improve the quality of content and technical expertise, but also brings Vietnamese culture to the world. Bilateral cooperation becomes a sustainable development strategy for both countries," director Nhat Linh shared.
