As reported by SGGP Newspaper, earlier, on the evening of May 25, the Cong Thanh 07 ship with a total tonnage of more than 5,000 tons, carrying nearly 5,000 tons of coal, was on its way from Quang Ninh to Quang Tri when it encountered an accident and sank at a depth of 40-50m, about 7 nautical miles from Vung Ang - Son Duong port (Ha Tinh province).

Before the ship sank, 11 crew members jumped off the ship and were later rescued by authorities and fishermen and brought safely to shore.
