Issuing a plan to ensure energy security.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued Plan No. 230/KH-UBND on the implementation of Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW of the Politburo on ensuring national energy security until 2030, with a vision to 2045, and Resolution No. 328/NQ-CP promulgating the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW in Da Nang City.

According to the plan, by 2030, Da Nang aims to promote green transformation, prioritizing the development of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar to replace fossil fuels. The city encourages the installation of rooftop solar power for self-production and self-consumption at government offices, production facilities, and households. Simultaneously, it will implement energy saving programs with the goal of achieving a savings rate of 8-10% of total final energy consumption compared to the business-as-usual scenario.

By 2045, the goal is to ensure sustainable and integrated urban development, efficient resource utilization, environmental protection, greenhouse gas emission reduction, and adaptation to climate change.

The plan outlines several important task groups: developing infrastructure by accelerating the progress of the Lien Chieu LNG storage project and the Hoa Ninh LNG thermal power plant (phase 1)...; reforming policies, reviewing and proposing specific mechanisms to attract private and foreign investment (ODA, JETP) into the energy sector; promoting digital transformation, building a smart grid system and researching and developing energy storage technology (BESS batteries); protecting the environment, promoting a circular economy model, utilizing urban waste to generate electricity and applying low-carbon technologies.

The Department of Industry and Trade is assigned to take the lead in coordinating with relevant departments and agencies to monitor and supervise the implementation.
