The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the People's Committee of Lang Son province, organized the opening ceremony of the 11th Northeast Region Ethnic Groups' Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival, 2024.

The Northeast Ethnic Groups' Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival (Northeast Ethnic Groups' Culture Festival) attracted the participation of 8 provinces: Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc and Bac Giang, with more than 400 officials, artisans, performers, guides and athletes.

The festival is not only a cultural event but also an opportunity for ethnic minorities in the Northeast region to showcase their cultural identity. Activities within the framework of the festival include performances of excerpts from traditional festivals and cultural rituals, displays and exhibitions of cultural products, cuisine , and tourism from various localities. In particular, the program also features a folk art festival and a costume show of ethnic groups, contributing to celebrating the cultural diversity of the region.

In addition, traditional sports such as tug-of-war, stick pushing, ball throwing, and stilt walking will also be organized, bringing a vibrant and exciting atmosphere to the festival. One of the important highlights is the scientific conference entitled "Cultural Tourism in the Northeast Region - Origins and Development" to discuss solutions for sustainable tourism development in the region.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung, Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Festival, emphasized: "The activities in the festival will create a special and meaningful cultural space. This is an opportunity for artisans, performers, and athletes from ethnic groups in the Northeast region to meet, interact, and share experiences in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values."

The Northeast Ethnic Groups' Culture, Sports, and Tourism Festival is not only an opportunity to promote the cultures of these ethnic groups but also a chance to boost tourism development in the region, thereby contributing to improving the lives of the people and preserving valuable cultural values. This event is expected to attract the attention of a large number of tourists and locals, creating favorable conditions for cultural exchange between ethnic groups and regions, and fostering unity among them.
