Right before the match started, the Malaysian team successfully completed the procedures for 5 naturalized players of South American and Spanish origin.
This new group of naturalized players made a difference for coach Peter Cklamovski's team. They completely dominated us and did not give Vietnam a chance. The big win helped Malaysia rise to the top of Group F with 6 points (+6 goal difference).
Pushing Vietnam team down to second place with 3 points (+1 goal difference) after the second round. Laos team rose to third place after the victory over Nepal.
